What good opportunities can we dig up in this global economic recession?

As I made my research, I found out some little info about the best time now to buy stocks or real estate properties because of its very low market price. But many of us couldn't afford idea, do you have any out of the box thinking that may make this discussion worthy to read and be a great help to someone in a desperate situation.

In some places houses are being sold for 500$ to 200$ total because the banks want them off their hands as soon as they can...
Closing sales, liquidation sales are good..
Most new small businesses are born during bad economy as the big corporate giants crash... As people will go to small that they trust more during this type of time...
Benefits of people pulling together to help eachother more.
