A female dog is in heat in my neighborhood and my male dog is going crazy

This girl dog down the block is in heat. My poor boy dog is going crazy. Hes waking us up early in the morning he wants to go out. He will sit there and cry to go out pretty much all day. The minute we take him out for his walk he will pull us to the girl dogs house. He then will sit in front of there house and not want to leave. The other day he even got out of the house and took off to the girl dogs house. We found him sitting on there porch. How long does heat last in a dog? Cant wait to things get back to normal around here.

i don't know how long it lasts but it's a pain the butte. what can i say, a male is a male. lol

oh that must be dificult to deal with it could last a couple of weeks sorry to have to tell you that I have the opposite problem I have a female dog and when she goes into heat I have all the male dogs in the town trying to get through the fence at her
