hello everybody here at Mylot. i have planned to cook homemade pepper steak with rice along with a side dish of broccoli casserole or either broccoli salad. they are both delicious. now my only problem is, what should i fix for desert on Valentine's Day night to go with my delicious home cooked meal? cake? pie? banana pudding? doughnuts? ice cream? thanks for sharing and have a beautiful afternoon.

Well that is a dilema...one that I just went through too...LOL! I have decided to make cheesecake with cherries...I think cheesecake is a little fancier dessert and the cherrys are red for love...LOL...good lord I sound sappy...LOL! In any case I am sure whatever you decide to make you hubby will enjoy...after all he gets to spend the time with you!

I think a cake in the shape of a heart would be romantic along with a few chocolate covered cherries. Maybe you can place the cherries around the cake. Your meal sounds wonderful especially since I am a big broccoli fan. Hope you have a great evening. And how exciting this year that Valentine's Day is on the weekend.

How about brownie sundaes! :D You could put a scoop of ice cream on top of a warm, fudgie brownie and then top it with hot fudge or chocolate syrup, whipped cream and heart-shaped sprinkles!

How about Better then S*x cake? I have always loved it and seems appropriate for Valentines...full of chocolate and fudge! Very delicious!

A cake or pie would go nicely with that dish. I myself plan on making heart shaped sugar cookies and the kids and I will decorate them with frosting, crystaled sugar, and heart shaped sprinkles and stuff. I'll probably make a couple special ones just for hubby with a great big "I love you" on them or something. I also plan on making a cherry pound cake. I made an orange one last week that hubby just loved, and this week I'd like to try cherry.

How about strawberry shortcake? If you do homemade biscuits, you can even get a heart-shaped cookie cutter so you have heart-shaped biscuits to put the strawberries and whipped cream on! :-)
