In our modern society,it is universally known that parents educate us in the earliest periods. However,it is not compeletely dependent on their parents for their qualities. And I subscibe to the opinion that parents are not the best teachers for their children. First of all, what children know is to imitate their parents in their early ages owing to strong curiosities. But it is a hard fact that not all parents have excellent habits in some aspect. For example, many are likely to cross the street in spite of the red light. When children catch the sights of their parents' illegal behaviour, they will unconsciously follow their parents and then form a bad habit. Thus, parents should impress their children with always correct bahaviour to educate them. In additon, the deficiency of knowledge when children grow up will probably evoke disbeliefs for children. In fact, the fundamental reason why children will possibly react with their parents is that parents can not match many needs as children want in many ways, especially the knowledge and culture. Here come the time that parents are beyond children's reach and then render mislead to the chilren. Therefore, parents are not everything for children. Finally, the most significant key is that children will contact with more and more people who may be very useful to them.Actually, the environment can affect people to a great extent. For instance, John, one of my primary school classmates, has recently met me in a supermarket. While we were talking a lot, many dirty words flew out from his mouth,I remembered that he was a very kind person at that time. But now he really became a rough guy. In terms of this, atmosphere around people is second to none in people's future development. So with children growing up, parents will be more and more away from them and many friends will influence and teach them. At that time, parents are not best teachers. In a word, many people will teach one another while not only parents. Thereby, parents are not the best teachers.

Even though parents thought us something in the initial stage of our life, many a times they can't be our best teachers. Its our mistakes and experience guide us a lot in our life. Parents are supportive in some way.

I agree. As the saying goes, interest is the best teacher. Parents influence us a lot but it doesn't equal that they are best teachers. Or, I would take home schooling.
