Right now the US National Debt is $10.7 Trillion dollars. According to the Federal Reserve, the "Stimulants" being passed and/or pledged so far will add up to $9.7 Trillion.
That is $1,430 for every man, woman and child in the entire world! That is over $31,000 for each person in the United States.
For the first time in our history, we may be looking at a Federal Deficit that's almost as big as the pre Stimulant national debt!
Are they insane?
I don't care what Prs. Obama comes up with to tell the people on his "Grassroots" travelling circus, this "fix" will destroy what is left of the value of a dollar... and our economy.
How can any rational person even consider this a "good" idea?

Oh Para, how quickly you forgot the words of D!ck Cheney? Don't you remember D!ck saying that deficits don't matter? If you look it up, you can find the video on youtube.

Only a complete idiot thinks you can fix debt by going deeper into debt.
Obama was supposed to be different, but according to his defenders, he is just another politician.
Now get your nose out of Obama's butt and breath a little oxygen.

NO, what I am saying is that it is funny when a republican says that deficits don't matter it is fine. But, when a democrate uses our resources to fix the mess that republicans made, he is attack by those that made the problem. You would think that republican would learn that they can't be trusted to run the country. Everytime they do, they leave the country a mess, and it requires a democrate to clean up the mess.

I sat and watched O'Bamas, address tonight. I don't think they are thinking at all, but he had the press eating out of his hand. No one really delved into the tough issues, and when they half way did, O'Bamas answer was that Bush had mismanaged the first half of the bail out money, and that O'Bamas adminisration, would do a much better job. Well if my memory serves me correctly, all Bush did was bail out the banks, and he was being pressured to do what he did by O'Bama and he Democratic Congress. Didn't O'Bama, and McCain both leave the campaign trail to come and force the stimulus package to pass, so the banks could be bailed out before the economy crashed, or was I dreaming? We have a bunch of self serving leaders in Washington right now, and I guess they plan on blaming the Bush admin. for everything for the next 4 to 8 years. Poor Bush, will get the blame for the terrorist being let loose in our society too, when that fiasco goes sour. Let us pray, because God alone knows what these idiots will do next.

Isn't it great that Obama sits there an blames Bush for what the House and Senate failed to do. Yes, Prs. Obama, you were a Senator and had responsibilities!
When he was pointing his stinky little finger at Bush he was actually talking about the failures of Pelosi, Reid and his pathetic, bed wetting self!

What Pelosi and Reid should be doing about it is auditing the money they authorized under the first (and all other) bail outs. That is within their scope of responsibilities... but of course they won't do it because that would be doing their job!

Sorry but the rest of that money is already spoken for. It is gonna be used to create jobs for illegal aliens. "Oh what a angled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!" O'Bama is the great deceiver!

I can't understand why people don't use common sense with this. It boggles my mind. I watched his speech and I'll I kept thinking was "the election is over, please stop with the speeches and actually tell us something."

His first test were his cabinet appointments. On those he varied from excellent to piss poor. I mean, he was willing to name people he knew weren't paying their taxes! The "Stimulant" package has been his second test, and first major issue, in this he and the Democrat Controlled Congress are failing us miserably.

I agree 100% Starr, I was willing to give O'Bama a chance to prove he could do something for us and our country, but so far all I've seen is finger pointing, and a continuation of his campaign speeches. He keeps saying we are responsible for our own futures, well my pocket book has no future, and if the government doesn't do something about rising cost neither will my family. We need real results, not lip service.

Well Bush and his policies put the US in Debt. The dollar was falling a longtime before Obama took over. I as recall the other party had control of both the House a Senate. So, what should that do to get the economy back up and running? There is no way to get it done without spending money. Mosy people seem to forget Bush had a surplus when he took over and the first thing he did was gave a tax cut. Well looking back now that was the wrong course of action.
It terms of being rational, once again i ask what should they do tax cuts have already been proven they don`t work. So, What should they do.

Nice try, but the Democrats have controlled the House and Senate for 2 years now.
In case you need a refresher course in US Civics, it is the Congress, not the President who gets to spend money. All the president gets to do is ask.

Oh,, and btw, every time tax cuts have been tried, they have worked. Everytime there has been a tax increase, it has led to a recession.
What should they do? They should do their jobs... This means audit the money already given out (which is what Pelosi and Reid said they would do if they got leadership of the House and Senate) and take the responsibility mandated to them by the US Consitution.
As for the recession, they need to do what government should do about all recessions... Butt out!
They should also prosecute those who have broken laws, leading to this recession.
