I just find it not gracious when an elderly person takes advantage of his / her age and conveniently cut que. HOnestly, i would have let you gone before me if you qued up. What would you have done?

It happens many times that i see elderly people especially women on buses.I get up and give my seat. One day I too will be old and when my old bones ache , I might need such sacrifices from others .Now I am healthy and such sacrifices are not going to hurt me.

i know what you mean. BUt when you get older, i'm sure you won't be so "bold" as to just cut people's que just because they OUGHT to give way to you right? I mean i would give way to her. But shouldn't she at least exercise some sort of courtesy too?

Yes you are rigt. Some people think it is their right and demand that we make way for them in the queue. That is very irritating.

I don't have any strong personal opinion in this matter, however I do think it is not polite to cut other's queue even if you are an elderly person. If this thing happens to me, I wouldn't mind if it is an old lady which I can call grandmother and looks weak and needs rest that's why she is cutting the line in the first place. I will just smile at her and understand her reason for cutting my line. But if the old person does not look THAT OLD - forgive me, you have to queue up because everybody needs to be hurry too. Well, that's my opinion. Thanks.

If somebody looks like they're struggling, whether it's an old person, a person with small children or a heavily pregnant woman for example, I would ask them if they want to go in front of me. But people who just cut in without asking are normally just nasty people, whether they are old or not. There's not much you can do though, without causing a scene.
