The tags help to classify your discussion. If you had tagged this discussion as "tags", and at a later date if someone was to search for "tags" in the search box at the top left corner on the page, then very likely you're discussion is going to be among the listed. Its another way of finding discussions that are of interest to you, and to see if the thread you are thinking of starting has been discussed before or not. Just another way to improve your Mylot experience ;)
