Would women find this phrase offensive or brush it off as a harmless male joke?

Is the phrase "Ride her like a stolen bike!" misogynist or just one of those "boys will be boys" jokes. Women would you take such a statement as threatiningly offensive or jus a joke amongst guys. If a close male friend said this to a woman, intended as a joke, would the woman find it funny or be seriously offended......Your thoughts

I see it as male humor and it wouldn't bother me. Of course if a guy said it about me and my fiance heard it he may knock the guy out. Then again he may not. Apparently alot of guys that my fiance works with joke around and make remarks about how good i look. My fiance tells me about it all the time. Then he says it just make him realize how lucky he is to have me.

well, people varies. opinionated, sensitive - name it. BUT. jokes like that are, i think, exclusively for male/guy talks only. if a lady hears it, i am sure she'll get offended - even if she knows the person delivering such joke. if ever i am the one on spot to hear this, i'll let it pass but noted in my mind, that guy who gave such jokes like that, is not a gentleman. =)

Anyone that would take that for anything other than 'boys will be boys', really needs to get over themselves. Actually the only difference between men and boys....the size of their toys. lol I wouldn't be offended, but I probably would have a come back lol

Well i think the first one is offensive and if you happen to say i , you will surely be kicked but the second one is just another dialogue used by women so its not offensive but a joke instead...

I'd take it in a joking manner. I grew up with older brothers, and have alot of male friends. Men joke differently than women do. Some, would take offense to that, but if you've got a good sense of humor, laugh it off and go with the flow. Why let one comment ruin your day!

I would just brush it off. I mean come on, it's a joke. It's maybe a little bit more of a guy thing but it's not generally meant to offend...it's just a T and A comment. I think sometimes as women we work so hard to be treated the same as the "boys club" at work and in other aspects of our lives that we take ourselves too seriously. I wouldn't be offended, in a way it's kind of like a guy compliment...like you'd be worth the effort to steal and take for a ride. I am one of those sports nut girls and was raised on hunting, fishing and football (I long ago gave up hunting and fishing, but I still love footbal)so I always spent more time around guys. They actually make more sense to me than women do and they are a whole lot more fun. Guys don't take themselves so seriously, women would be well served to adopt more of that lifestyle. And to be honest, we talk about ya'll too.
