Is Tajmahal a monument of Love?

Emperor Shah Jahan built Tajmahal to show the whole world how deeply he loved his wife Empress Mumtaj Begum.Shahjahan built Tajmahal after the death of Mumtaj.In her life time Mumtaj Begum could not realize husband's love to her.History is silent about this.Can we not say Shahjahan built Tajmahal to glorify himself?

Hello bhanusb! I am not really an expert here but I have read about it when I was still in highschool so there are some informations that I really forgot. Taj Mahal is a historical figure. Everybody knew about it and everybody are interested to know it. I do really think that Shahjahan built the Taj mahal to tell to the world how much he loves his wife. I am not sure if I am right, but it could be..hehehe..

Yes Emperor Shahjahan Built Taj Mahal to tell the world how much he loved her wife Mumtaj Mahal.He had total nine wives . Mumtj was his third wife.Before Mumtaj he married Akbarabadi Mahal and Kandahari Mahal.If he loved Mumtaj Begum so much he would not marry so many wives .He had shown charisma by building a wonderful architectural structure Taj Mahal.

Hi, Im really amazed at this story. I did not know poor Mumtaz was unloved in her lifetime. I know its a fashion amongst the rich and kingly to marry more than one wife to satisfy his carnal desires, but I thought Mumtaz was his favourite. This is news to me. Thanks. Do tell all.
