How can you be against Abortion, but Pro Death Penalty?

Help me understand this. Most people I know who are against abortion are also supporters of the Death Penalty. The two main reasons anti-abortion people have are 1. All life is sacred. 2. They dont want their tax dollars paying for other peoples abortions. So if all life is sacred, why is it ok to kill prisoners? And guess what.. your tax dollars pay for the executions too. Any thoughts?

It is hard to understand, and I'm not sure what I'm about to write will be an adequate explanation. You've heard the expression, "Let the punishment fit the crime." This is what is mean with "an eye for an eye." The unborn is always innocent. The punishment the criminal was given at sentencing should be equal to the crime they committed.

Hi Tee, I've never been able to understand that either but I feel now that it has more to do with the tax dollars than with the sacredness of life. You see it costs money to keep prisoners alive, just as it does to pay for abortions. Blessings.

Hi Pose! I agree. Sure it costs money to keep them alive in jail, but if life is so sacred then isnt that money well spent?? Such a hippocracy.

I was shocked at this question, cos i think there is no comparison between an innocent baby trusting in the safety and comfort of its mothers womb to be brought to life one day, and a person who goes about committing crimes knowingly and willingly. But I am glad to see a couple of other posters have made this point very well. Have you had a baby?

I do not know! I am against both. I guess it is that criminals are considered guilty but babies are innocent! Who knows?
