I had all 4 of mine cut out at the same time. I was given pain medicine and also told to gargle with peroxide and with salt water. That will help with the pain alot, but be sure not to swallow any. They should have given him some pain medicine or something to help with the pain. Ouch... I remember that pain, :[ Hope he feels better soon... It won't be so bad in a day or two. Happy mylotting

Sorry to bug, but wondering about my daughter.... in college, just told about teeth removal. She's having no pain or problem, but you know. I had mine removed about same age, herDad never had his removed. She's leaving country 3 weeks after school ends this year, I'm recommending that she wait intil she gets back, just in case there is an infection or something. She's thinking of having it done when she gets back, one week before school starts and where college is, not at home with someone we know. Bugs because someone else is recommending, not me, and... one week before school, moving stuff from storage to new house, buying books for school, having tooth pain....I recommended she wait until Winter Break..... what do you think?

I haven't had mine out yet, but I know it really hurts. One of my good friends got his out and was back at school within the hour. Its different for everyone and usually just being gentle with them and giving them a whole bunch of pain meds works. :)

I had mine out two years ago. He really needs to remember to gargle with salt water, and follow the instructions they give to keep the area infection free. I hope he isn't one of those "tough" guys who tries to make do without pain medication. If they gave him some, I hope you can make sure he takes it. Poor guy!

I had to have one of my wisdom teeth out a few months ago. It had been causing me lots of pain but the relief at having it removed was enormous. I had some pain killers to ease the pain, which only lasted a few days. After that it was just a little uncomfortable. If your boyfriend has had them removed he should have been given some form of pain relief. If not I would suggest he contacts them to ask for some. Failing that standard pain killers will help. Getting plenty of sleep will make things a little easier too, as I found myself drowsy at times. The rest did help to keep the pain down a bit. Drinking plenty of cold water may soothe it to some degree too.

Luckily I haven't had to endure this pain and I don't think I would be much of a happy campier either having it done. But my wife has had one wisdom tooth out and she was in some what of a lot of pain. But that's because her tooth was in side ways. And she had to have stiches. All you have to do is put a lot of pressure on it to get it to stop bleeding and than keep it clean. The first day is the worst than after that it gets better. And don't worry to much about your boyfriend he'll be fine and he'll be able to drive over when he's feeling better. And friday will be here before you know it.

Yes,I have my all wisdom teeth, I think they grew when I was about 18 years old. I never felt any pain, probably can be very lucky for that! I know people who have terrible pain while wisdom teeth are growing, some people go to the dentist and make them pull out. Some people get their wisdom teeth already rotten. They are very niminy-piminy! I wish your boyfriend hood health! I think there are nothing much you can do about it, just wait till they grow out.

Pain medicine prescribed by the dentist. For the first few days, the meds will keep him asleep but it's best. A cold ice pack the first 24 hours will help with swelling and with pain. Just keep the packs on the cheeks and that is that. A warm compress after the first 24 hours will work for the rest of the time. I was lucky. I had NO pain at all. I took a pain pill when I noticed the numbing agent starting to wear off and it knocked me out and made me really sick but other than that, I felt no pain at all. Everyone else had extreme pain and I only took one of my pain pills.

When ever teeth come out from the gums it has to rupture the gum and come out surely it will create pain . but you can take mild pain killers fr that .Wisdom teeth coming means he is becoming wise be happy .

Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed. You only need to remove them if they grow in wrong. I still have my wisdom teeth.

you should visit his dentist for a check up.. the dentist would normally do some xrays on the teeth and would give him pain killers and maybe if its starting to swell, some antibiotics.. the dentist will be the one to decide if it will be pulled out or just to remain in there. but some dentist would really suggest to pull it out since that tooth is a useless one, it will not be used during mastication. hope i helped.
