How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?

Has anyone ever tried this? If so what number did you come up with? A friend and I each tried it once and got about 1200 licks in the same spot before we reached the tootsie roll center.

I tried it once back when that commercial was popular. But I never made it, I would always crunch down to get to that yummy center.
