To go to Europe or not?

United States

Me and my girlfriend have both always dreamed of going to Europe. We are thinking about settling down soon and figure that if don't go on a trip to Europe now we probably never will. The problem is we don't have much money right now and our future salaries don't look to promising. Should we say screw it and live our dream or bank on the fact that perhaps someday we will go?? What do you guys think? Thanks ahead of time!

You both should follow your dreams and just hop on that "boat" and go. If you book way in advance and plan now, it is not as grim financially as it seems. Europe is a great experience, so have some fun and learn some new things. You will not regret a experience like that. I was there for a month, I stayed in Sweden at my boyfriend's place, and we traveled to Spain as well, it was unforgettable. Perhaps if you both are settling down together you can do a honeymoon thing, whether you are marrying or not, start this new chapter with a blast and knock those dreams down as they come! I wish you the best of luck!

I found your response very persuading! I think you are right. You only live once right? I think it may be a good way to start off our lives together. Thank you and everyone who posted above you!

I was keen to go around Europe when I was 18 so I got a job as a children's nanny in Finland. Then after that ended I inter railed around Europe. I stayed in youth hostels. My trip didn't cost very much money. I have been back to see more places in Europe. Places that are not too expensive are Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro, Croatia and Poland. Cities like London, Paris and Rome are expensive. I suggest you read a budget travel guide and look at a rail timetable. You might be able to plan a trip to suit your low budget. You could go to a couple of popular cities and mix those with cheaper places. Good luck.

I say go for it. You will not regret it. You can save money by staying at youth hostels and by taking the train (buy a train pass) and by buying your own food as opposed to eating in restaurants. There are books on how you can travel on the cheap and still see all the sights. Good luck!

Maybe it's a diffcult choice. But I think you should not go.Although you have realized your dream, accomplish your fond dream queen?you have to be anxious for self arrears.not only these affecting the state of mind touring.bring about a harassment also on the hereafter.
