One of my friends is renting a limo for her 9 year old daughter for her birthday, just to go for a drive in it....would you do this? I wouldn't. I think limos should be for special events in your life, like prom and marriage...or of you are filthy rich and like to throw money around.....My kids will get one for the grade 12 prom...if they want one. After that it will be up to them to get one if they want one. maybe I am a scrooge. Or an old prude. but I think it is over the top.

I think this could be a very good experience for her daughter. As long as she doesn't spoil her too much, it can't hurt. Society believes that limos are only for special circumstances. It sounds like she is thinking "outside the box". There is no harm in this. As long as the mother is WITH her, I think it is fine.

thank you for your response, I can see where you are coming from but I just think it is a little over the top. And plus I mean it is her child, she can do what ever she wants.

NEVER! At 9 yrs old, she doesn't need a limo for her birthday. Maybe for a special birthday like a sweet 16, but I probably wouldn't even do that. I think it is crazy to throw that money away on a limo. JUst think if she took the amount each year she would spend on something like this and put it towards a college fund instead.

she says it won't be that expensive for the amount of children that will be there. But i think any amount will be to much. I would rather spend that kind of money on her presents. I don't know maybe it is just me...if you spend the money on presents they just get tossed into a closet and not used after a couple of times. And clothes they out grow. Oh well i guess to each there own.

From on scrooge to another mag! If you rent her a limo for her Birthday at age 9, then what comes for age 10, 11, 12.....? By the time she is a junior/senior a limo will be boring! LOL My son is a senior this year and he and some of his friends (my kids are scrooges too!LOL) went together and got a huge limo for prom night. We have teased them all wondering how they are all going to fit. It was the biggest one they could get in order for each to pay less and fit so off to the big Senior Prom they are with 10 people crammed in this limo ROFL (Poor Driver) And the kids are so excied about it. None have ever been in a limo and the prom isn't until April and that's all the nuts talk about.Maybe I should have exposed him to a limo when he was 9 so he would SHUT UP about it now! LOL

LOL see and that is what my kids are going to be like because it will be speical to them...I'm debating letting my daughter go but then he would be upset that she didn't get to go! but i do not want to be a hypocrite. But ifeel the same as you. If she gets her this now what the heck is she going to be buying her for her 12th birthday...her own car..lol thanks fast talker
