certain foods? Like chicken for instance. Which do you like better baked chicken or fried? I think fried chicken tastes better, even if it is bad for us. My grandmother used to bake hamburgers on a cookie sheet to cut down on splatter clean up.

I like to bake foods. Lower fat and calories, I think. I think fried chicken tastes, good. Of course. However, the fact that it is bad for us weighs on my mind when I'm cooking.

I prefer to eat fried chicken, but like to bake chicken. I just have no luck making fried anything because the oil always spills all over the place every time I try to fry stuff. Plus, baked chicken is better for you, so fried stuff is more of an occasional treat.

fried chicken - I love both ways of cooking the chicken, but I prefer fried chicken as it tastes better like what you said.
Hello ersmommy. I love both ways of cooking the chicken, but I prefer fried chicken as it tastes better like what you said. I have an oven, but I seldom use it and it is still laid in my store room. I think that I must use it some day soon and learn more about baking. Enjoy yourself, friend.

I like both baked and fried chicken; however because of the oily mess and splatters, I only cook baked chicken at home. Fried chicken - I get it from KFC!

Personally, I think fried foods get a bad rap because they all get lumped together. Of course, if you eat nothing but fried foods, it isn't going to be healthy for you. But having some fried chicken or a fried burger now and then isn't going to harm you. The quality of the fat you use for frying should be taken into consideration. For example, frying something in lard is not as healthy as frying something in a vegetable-based oil. If I am going to fry chicken or shrimp, I use a blend of canola oil and extra virgin olive oil in my deep fryer and heat the oil prior to adding the food. By preheating the oil, the food doesn't tend to absorb as much of it. Then, draining on paper towels, while it cools enough to eat, will remove a lot of the excess oil. If I'm frying an uncoated meat, I don't usually use any fat or oil. I just preheat the pan prior to frying and the meat doesn't tend to stick.

As far as flavor goes I prefer fried on most things. I do tend to bake a lot though because the food ends up lower in fat. I bake my chicken most of the time. I will sometimes pan fry though.

We don't fry very often, we prefer it baked. I pulled out my deep fryer last night for the first time in months to make fried ravioli. I think the last time we used it was to make fried dough. There is one dish hubby makes, it's chicken, either legs or thighs. He'll create his own breading, usually using a pack of southern fried flavored shake and bake, and adding some Emeral's essence and a few other things. He'll fry it for a few minutes per side in the pan, then he'll bake it for another 20 minutes. I absolutely love the way that comes out! When deep frying chicken, sometimes all you can taste is the oil, but the way hubby does it, you don't taste oil at all, but the skin sure is crispy!

although i like the taste of fried foods (yeah especially fried chicken), we seldom fry anymore. I often bake, chicken, turkey burgers, even fish. It is a healthier way to do it. Besides, there is not much difference in taste. I love making baked chicken tenders all coated with oats to make it crunch & crispy good. and in those cases when frying in unavoidable, i make use of olive oil. have a nice day!

Well when frying the taste makes it really good and better. However I hardly ever fried chicken, I always bake it and there are several different ways which are really good to eat and healthy.

Baked burgers are very good. I do bake my burgers on a cookie sheet and they come out just fine. You can make alot of burgers at once much better then a frying pan.

I would rather bake than fry foods. Not only is it healthier for you but it definitely saves on the cleaning depending on what you're cooking. :-)
