Imagine You Lived Alone..no spouse, no children, just you. Do you think you'd be able to survive off of $800/mo?

Yeah I think I could if it was just me by myself. I don't go out that much and I eat pretty cheap. I'd have to give up coffee out bt it could be done

I drink at least a pot of coffee a day- 10 to 12 cups. At $1.50 a cup I would be out of money quick.

well it would be most difficult and not a great life, but if I had to, yes I beleive I could...Most of it would have to go to a roof over my head as you did say live alone..otherwise I could visit my kids and say...hi honey, Im home!!...lol I would find a place with everything included...We have a local motel that rents rooms for $600 with everything included, even Tv...that would be an option, or just renting a room in a house however I think I would opt for the motel with heat, lights, Tv, phone and privacy. That would leave $200 for the rest. I could eat on less than $25 a week which would be another $100...so I still have $100 left for things that may come up. Ya I could do it, but wouldnt want to have to try!

WOW! I see you have it all worked out...would love to find a few places like that here where you can get everything for just $600 per month like those motels. Things ahve become so epensive, as soon as you get some cash it is gone

If I didn't have to pay any bills, including rent, then I probably could. But even if my only bill was rent I wouldn't be able to survive as it costs even more than this to live out here in California.

800 Euros cna be stretched, depending on where you are in Europe. In Italy I cna buy more than enough groceries at Il Centissimo the cents store that would last me for a month and still have enough left over.

I have lived in the Netherlands, Belgium and Berlin. They are all very expensive. Lately I do have to look at the stores that are cheapest. Before the Euro, I had no problems with money. I did not have to much, but I did not have to little either. I was living comfortably and I enjoyed it. But these days!!! There is no middle class any more. You either have lots of money or you have close to nothing. Middle class turn poor class and the rich get richer. That is just the way it is. The way I hear it, in America it is the same way. Take care. Have a nice day.

Wow...that is a good question. I'm really not sure about that right now with the economy so bad and all the prices of everything going up so high. But then again if i'm alone with no extra bills like credit cards and stuff like that, I think i can survive on $800.00 a month. I'm married with 2 kids and we need triple that amount to survive monthly...LOL.

As long as I cut back on my spending for me time I think that I could.

Cutting back does help indeed, but it is getting more and more difficult these days to even stretch $800 much less survive on it.

If I will spend that $800 in our country, that amount is so much. I can even spend only half of it. Imagine, that amount is like Php37,000 and the average earning of an ordinary employee here is P8,000. I would be rich if I have that amount every month.

If you spend that money here in the Philippines you will have more than enough. An average Filipino would need at least PhP520(Less than $11) a day to live. Including sending their kids to school. If for example, I have P15,000 (About $312) a month for myself, I'm sure I'll be able to live with it. With proper money management and wisdom in spending.
