Do you prefer to live abroad rather than your own country... WHY ?

They always say "There's no place like home" and for some reasons; I believe it so. But due to unfortunate condition of life and economic instability;most of us find more greener pastures abroad. I spent half of my life now in Canada and I always felt that I would prefer to go back and live in the Philippines if we would have a better economy to supply us a good paying job and smart goverment administrators. What about you, what do you think?

I agree with what your saying but I can feel at home anywhere. Home is where the heart is. ;0)

Live and stay to where your heart wants you to be. As long as it makes you happy..I will be happy for you too.

I think that I shall be content to stay at home in the United Kingdom. I have previously considered moving to Spain when I retire, mainly because the cost of living would be considerably lower. The problem is that I would want to visit my home town quite often, which would quickly eat up any savings made over the year.

Spain, for sure is nice but you are smart to think what will be your situation if you will move there permanently.I guessed if we can just do many things at the same time and of course can afford it, we will definitely go for it. Thanks for replying to my discussions.I enjoyed reading your answers.

This is my home, problems and all. And, it's not like other countries don't have problems.

You are right about that, no matter how you live is your life. Yet, I don't believe that other countries don't have any problems. At this modern age, everyone and anywhere has problems doesn't matter if it is heavy or light but most importantly, they know how to manage their lives.

they say "there's no place like home" for home is where your heart is, where (non-financial) comfort is, where your friends and loved ones are. it's where you grew up, where you learn and experience the firsts of life's many, where you feel you belong. i like it here in the US, and i know i'd like anywhere, coz i love travelling, meeting people, exploring, and learning. but in my heart, philippines is where i'd rather be - bad politics, devalued peso, insane traffic, overpopulated and polluted, LOL! so what? it's full of natural & cheap resources; amazing beaches and tourist spots; beautiful, warm, patient, light-hearted, & friendly people; and nothing could beat adobo & pakbet :)

I would love to have the opportunity to move abroad, not that there is anything wrong with the UK, well apart from the weather and how expensive everything is. I can put up with the expensence but the weather, well I think that is God's joke on us.
