I am a NASCAR fan and watch a lot on TV as well as visiting a few local short tracks in my area. I am watching the Trucks practice roight now on SPEED TV. I noticed the name switch as well in the truck series. It was called Craftsman Truck Series but this year it's National Camping World Truck Series. When did Sears/Craftsmans Tools drop their sponsorship of the NASCAR Truck series?

We are BIG Nascar fans around here, My husband has it on all the time, I just watch the Sunday race. We are right down the road from Bristol Motor speedway, and Thunder Valley. We go once in a while to the track, its really loud, but it is fun.

I have only been to MIS, Michigan International Speedway.
I do got to a few different NASCAR short tracks around here all summer though.
Mostly the ones that have the Late Models though.

Hi, Grandpa Bob.
They probably dropped their sponsorship when National Camping World out bid them on a renewed contract. At the end of the day, it really is all about money isn't it?
So..... really?? You just watch trucks practicing driving around in cirlces. Really?? Haha
Not a NASCAR fan so I know I just don't get it. I can understand getting excited about a big race, and especially the excitement of actually being at the track for a race. But watching it on tv just makes me scratch my head in question.
I'm a tennis fan, and I know a lot of people feel the same way about watch two people knock a ball back and forth over a net at each other.

Practice is more fun than watching the race itself actually.
This is the time new and experienced drivers try new things and learn the handling of the vehicles under different conditions. Like today it was very windy and seeing them learn how to handle the trucks with drafting and passing in those high winds was great. A lot of accidents happen during practice as well.

Bob, I don't know the exact answer to your question, but it is probably like the speedway here, the owner goes with the highest bidder, and they have like a 5 or more year contract. Tight now it is Lowes, but it may be something else when that contract expires. Blessings Marilyn

I'm not a NASCAR fan but my dad is. When I saw him this past Sunday he remarked that drivers aren't flying to races in their private planes anymore but plane-pooling to save money! Maybe economics is the purpose for sponsors switching.

Yeah but there are a few still using thier own jets.
I have no idea but thats my guess.
I also see a few cars and trucks without sponsors due to the economy slipping.

Toward the end of last season they announced that they were switching but I didn't hear to what until last week.
I'm a little tired of them changing the names of things every other year or so.
But like everything else...it's all in the money.
