I enjoyed my train trip to Long Beach....Amtrak is awesome!

There is such a huge difference between flying and traveling by train! Of course it takes longer but I have nothing but time and took the 3 day trip to relax and enjoy the scenery! I couldn't afford the roomette but lucked out and had 2 seats to myself all the way to my destination. I guess it's a good thing that I'm not a very tall or big person because I was able to curl up and sleep at night. The seats are very comfortable and are like recliners so it was easy when I felt like I wanted just a little nap. There were no big lines...or lines at all at the terminals and nobody frisking you before you get on the train. There are no check ins and it couldn't have been easier. We stopped in Albaquerque, NM and I had the time to shop at the local vendor tables that were set up right where we got off the train for a cigarette. I bought two unbelievable blankets....one for me and one for my daughter. At $6.50 a piece they were a steal. The woman had her loom set up right behind her table and was making them in between sales. The weather was awesome and I couldn't have enjoyed myself more. Have you ever traveled by Amtrak anywhere? What were your experiences?
