i know someone who got married on valentines day and although it seems romantic now that she's single again it makes valentines even harder to cope with

I have a friend who is going to get married on Saturday, Feb 14th. We are all praying that hers would last forever and be the fairy tale that we all dream of.

I would not personally get married on any holiday - most of all the 14th of Feb. (Mainly because my birthday is the 15th). I think holidays should be celebrated for their meaning and your wedding day should be celebrated as its own special holiday to you and your family. I have a family member who is getting married on Halloween this coming year and I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it, but it is their choice and I respect that, even if it is something I would not do.

That is a very good point although being single again was the farthest from her mind when she got married on Valentine's. She should just consider it one of the good times in her life. She could have more good times coming. Cheers!!

It would seem such a special day on which to be married but it must be awful if you are then alone again later on having to remember. Sad that we always asuume things will work out when many times that is not the case. I'm sure your friend is in good company as so many marriages seem to fall apart these days

Hi carl, I have been married for 28 years, but no on Valentine day but we have never celebrated Valentine day as its always seems to be a hpye, you don't need one day to tell someone you love them, you got everyday and its putting too much stress on people too. I am so sorry for this girl that got married on Valentine's day and now is single, she should just treat this as just another day, that is what I do. Tamara

My fourth child was born on Valentines day. I think it's what you make of it. I suppose marriage is something else, but hopefully your friend will realize that there is hope in the sea and that she'll meet the right person one day. My second oldest was born on our anniversary, and even though I'm now divorced from her father, I don't hold that against her. In fact, I rarely ever think about it. I wish your friend well. Anora

Yes, you would think if you get married on a day like that, it will last forever! I am sorry to hear that it did not last. Take care, happy mylotting.
