Even thought it's not my year, I like more of the 60s songs. It's because of the beat and lyrics were much simpler and easier to play with. I like Elvis Presley, The Ventures and Shadows, the Beatles and the British Invasions. How about you?

I love listening to some old songs (from the 60's or 70's) because they have more meaningful lyrics than the new songs that we hear nowadays. The old songs are very inspirational that when you hear it you also fall in love with the artist's voice plus the soothing melody and the expressive lyrics. On the other hand, new songs are very loud with meaningless lyrics. Though there are also some new songs that are much the same with the old ones (such as those revived songs).

Hi galileo2008! Most song revivals doesn't sound too good when they mix it with RNB style of singing. The original for me is still better. Sometimes oldies revived into instrumentals like of Kenny G's 'The way you look tonight' and other current jazz musicians, songs become a little bit better. Reviving it to instrumental is better than singing it with a new version, I think.

I was a teen in the 60's while all that great music was being written and, because I can personally relate to it, I like the oldies better than much of the new stuff out there now. So many musicians had so many important things to say back then. Jimi Hendrix was the greatest guitar player I ever saw, Janis Joplin could make you cry, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones rocked....there were so many.

I like old songs. It has a good lyrics you will really appreciate much the songs. The writings of the lyrics are different now. You will feel the emotion of the song because of the beat.
