Have you ever been sitting around doing nothing in particular and something from your past hits you? And you wonder what triggered that? It's been happening to me lately. Makes me wonder if it's because I'm getting older.

That happens to me too I consider it a screen saver for my brain, when it goes to shut down and relax the screen saver comes on and it's pictures of my past sights going slowly across the screen most of the time it's funny pictures of my family or something I have seen on TV.

That's a nice way of looking at it.

I notice it is quite often man sitting doing nothing, but rarely do I see women sitting with two hands free. Even when they are watching TV, they will have something doing at hand, say knitting. I do mylotting, and turning aside to watch TV from time to time. Or I watch TV, with two hands busy at knitting. Older people tend to idle around, but idling people are not necessarily old people. You need some time to rest your mind, but it is the attitude to balanced lifestyle to get you healthy and happy both for the young and for the old.

I find that happens at various times to me as well. Sometimes it may be a place i would go too or a house or a song.

With me, lots of times, it's the memory of a smell. My sense of smell was damaged due to a head injury, but I can still remember some of the smells from my childhood.

Oh heavens yes. There are times that I'll be going along and something catches my attention and I find myself in a slew of memories from some such date in time. I think it's a part of being human. I suppose as long as you aren't becoming distracted while driving then you're doing ok. Enjoy those memories.
