I really hate it when my porridge explodes

Nearly every morning I cook porridge in the microwave, blasting it for 75 secs then stirring and then blasting for a further 45 secs. But maybe once in every 50 times it explodes leaving a mess of porridge in the mircroslave. Anyone know why this is and what can be done to prevent it? all the best urban

We have special microwave lids--they have holes in them. This should solve the exploding porridge problem. Messy microwaves! Ick! But I don't know why food explodes once in a while, sorry.

I too just hate it when any thing explodes in the microwave and it gets all over the place making it hard to clean. I hate it worse when it happens to the kids and they don't clean it up right away and the food get dried on or they cook in it again and cook the food onto the walls. I try to get them to cover the dishes with a paper plate or a damp paper towel to catch those explosions. It works when they do.
