Tomorrow (WOW!! it's almost here!) I am going to Atlantic City for a little R&R (oh, and some gambling). We have a free room and my one friend always bugs me to let them know when we're going so they can come with us. So, we've been planning this for a few weeks now, and last week my friend FINALLY committed to going. Now she can't go...
Last night her son called her to tell her that he wont be coming up to visit this weekend because he hurt his knee playing football with the guys. He was coming up to visit and he'd also be able to watch her dog while we were in Atlantic City. So, now she has no one to watch her dog and she can't go. I had a feeling the whole time that something was going to go wrong and she was going to have to back out at the last minute.
My husband and I are still going though - the room is free and we've already taken half days off so we can get there before the traffic gets too bad. I'm still pretty excited, but kinda bummed that my friend isn't going. I know I'll still have a great time!!!

Sorry your friends plans fell through. For some reason I had the same feeling when you said she committed to go. Well go, have fun and bring home the money.

I didn't have that real postive feeling that she was coming either... But, we're going to have a good time anyway! And my PLAN is to bring home TONS of money :)

I love going to Atlantic City, but too bad it is not the summer or you could hang out on the beach! But people do not particularly go to Atlantic City for the beaches hehe. I remember when I was 17 I would go there and gamble with my 16 year old cousin, I would do his face makeup to look like he had a five o'clock shadow, it was a lot of fun. I did not even like gambling, the joy I got was from being able to not get caught in the casino. Well, now I am only 18, so it was just two summers ago haha. I am going to the Bahamas in December, and the gambling age is 18, so let's see if it is as much fun without having to be sneaky, probably not.

Hey, if they had craps tables out on the beach, summer would make a difference for me. But summer, winter, fall, or spring, it's all the same to me. It might be ok enough that we can walk around on the boardwalk a bit, we'll see.

Well, this is only a 3 hour drive for us, so it's not that far. I'll keep you updated though! Hopefully you'll be traveling soon.
