Do you use notepad anymore?

There was a time when notepads were used more - to save space mainly. The MS word documents use up too much space for even small texts - mainly because of the formats, intendation and the metadat. Moreover, it takes a few seconds to open. Notepads open quickly, and doenst support too many text formats which makes, copy+paste, or to-do lists, saving links or site names, and jotting down other quick references or song lyrics, much easier. DO you still use notepad?

I use notepad sometimes cause it is troublesome to open the latest versions of Microsoft word cause it takes a lot of time to load so yes, I do use notepads sometimes.

Yep. I use notepad a lot to do my job. You are very right on the efficiences of notepad. It is quick and convenient to record some thing on hand, just like the memo. Also it is good news we have an upgraded version for notepad, called natepad++. It is more powerful. In fact, I seldom use Word to record somethings. ^^

I use notepad for storing javascript files and other small pieces of code. It can also be useful for opening many forms of files which are basically text based, such as winnt.sif or cue files. I have sometimes had dat and cue files that do not work simply because the directory path or file name is wrong in the cue file, so opening it with notepad and editing it solves the problem.

Every day. As a matter of fact, my firefox toolbar has an icon to open notepad directly. I love to copy paste quickly without having to wait for a program to load.

Thanks for your time. Notepad is the most simplest and data can be retrieved mush faster with it. But i use wordpad and MS word as well. A programmer uses wordpad often, and If we need to print or write important documents, MS word is the best. Thanks again. Happy mylotting.

I still do. Because it's much smaller and i can open it on computers that don't have WORD installed in them. But i don't use them often though. Here and there when i just need to paste some text there for future use.

Yeah, you can push the notepad onto one corner of the screen. Unlike word which takes some space because of the menus and top bars. Thanks and happy mylotting.

I still use a notebook. I'm not one of those professionals who carry around a laptop or pda all the time. And I don't use a blackberry either so I still have a penchant for jotting down stuff using paper and pen. :) The only downside to this is that I sometimes misplace the piece of paper. Or that I don't have a pen. But if there's a will, there's a way. I can always get a paper anywhere or borrow a pen from a stranger. :) It's not too hard.

Thanks for your time. That's one of the reasons i use it as well. Some of my projects involve collecting emails of certain people. Sometimes i type up phone numbers when i'm on the phone and i cant find any paper or pen (both are never in the same place at the same time). Thanks again. Happy mylotting.

Absolute, i still use notepad. It easy to save my site address, and no need big file size. Microsoft Word need more space than Notepad. I also keep my diary date in my hard drive, much quick and doesn't need high recommended for my RAM.

Thanks for your time. I agree. Its easy to open notepad, and even copy plain text formats from it. IN MS word, sometimes the text format, bold, and hyperlinks will be copied to clipboard. Happy mylotting.

Yes I still do. I usually use it when copying lyrics from various websites. It doesn't take time pasting texts in Notepad. Text formatting is also removed in Notepad.

I use Notepad all the time. When I have things to write for online posting, I usually prepare them in Notepad for the reason you mention -- avoiding the text formatting. I want to be able to copy/paste and not have any incorrect characters showing up, awkward or incorrect line breaks, etc. Notepad is more efficient and time saving.
