Just throwing this one out for fun So....I got that phrase in my head earlier today about someone weighing X pounds,(kilos or whatever) "soaking wet"...So,as it got me wondering what's that all about,I thought I'd ask MyLotters where did it come from? Are there people out there in the habit of weighing themselves before they've reached for a towel getting out of the bath, shower,or swimming pool? Are You in the habit of doing this? Or Do you know someone who does? Share!

They must be talking about people that come in from a Thunderstorm and step on the scale fully clothed and soaking wet. I really don't have a clue

Thats funny I really have never thought about it before. I have heard this all my life, such an such wouldn't even weigh even a hundred pounds if they were soaking wet. I have never weighed myself while I was wet but I was just wondering are they saying that people weigh more wet are what.

I make sure there's as little of anything on me before I weigh myself, I don't want anything to add to it! I don't know if a bit of water makes any difference or not, but I'm not risking it. ;)

Hi ShepherdSpy well I always wondered how that expression' came' about unless someone did weight selves without toweling off. I guess someone did that a zillion years back and it got handed' down over the years. My dad often said when irritated,oh for Pete's sake etc etc and so on.Now I always wondered why that term meant someone was irritated about something. and who the heck was Pete.

That one's a bit more easily explained..I know this one...Pete is St Peter, the gatekeeper of Heaven, the one who checks Your Name is on the List for who gets in and who doesn't..
