how to be creative?

Yes, you can learn to be creative its fun.. I am naturally creative, and yes I do find myself thinking outside the box quite a bit, I am often called nasty names for it as I am more familiar with being creative then non creative in my approach to live. Anyone can learn to develop and grow their creativity.. Drawings, rights, thinking of jokes, or word games... Just practice with poetry and rhymes seems to come natural for most people. - DNatureofDTrain

yes you can learn to be creative! Here are some good exercises to bring out your creativity: 1. Cut out a bunch of random words from a newspaper (about 100). Throw them on the floor and arrange them into a poem. They make some refrigerator magnets just for this purpose too. 2. Play with kids toys: those wax strings, clay, crayons - all very good at building creativity. Don't try for anything fabulous, just create randomly. 3. Freewriting - this is the number one tool for me to bring out my creative side for my job! I sit down and set a timer for 10 minutes, then just write what ever is rolling around in my head, without stopping for anything, for ten minutes. something about this gets the creative juices going. 4. Cloud watching 5. See how many shapes you can see in a tree's leaves 6. Look at artwork closely and let go of your thoughts, see how it makes you feel.

Being creative is a way of life. It's a state of mind. I believe that being creative can be learned. You just be with creative people as well so you'll be influenced on how they do things and deal with certain situations. Also, read books about creativity and practice what you learn after. Kudos.

hmmm.....i think being creative is just natural to some people and not to some.....and i don't think its something that can be taught,... Anyways, the wold needs the right number of people who think creative and those who are practical.......with lots and lots of creative people...ha ha....the world will be full of dreamers. Welcome to mylot, let me try to comment my view on this topic. First of all I think creative is thinking out of the box and see things in different angle. Don't stick to what you have now the most important is act like you don't have any and try to figure it out how to do it. In short, take alternative and think alternative. But this can't apply in accounting or financial sector if you were in that dept. because you will get caught and put behind bar. I think that is it, Happy Mylotting.
