Trouble remembering birthdays?

I remember some of my very important friends birthday to the last minute, but on that day, i'll forget to call and wish. Two days later, i'll suddenly remember their birth date and rush to the phone the moment i get home to call.
Its been embarrassing to keep forgetting like this - esp since my friends never forget my birthday. Moreover, they call at 12:00 at midnight to wish me.
This makes me feel real bad.
How do you remember your friends and families birthdays?

Do you have a cell phone?
On most phones (PDA and Smart Phones are GREAT AT THIS!) you usually have a "scheduling" option to add "events" to your monthly calender - so, on that day, something will pop up and tell you what event it is. This is how I remember birthdays. And from there, I'll send a Facebook message, or text them, or shoot 'em a call and let them know I'm thinking about them on their birthday & wish them well. Okay, this isn't totally honest, but hey! It's not my fault I have a horrible memory!
Also, you could just use a physical calender - and write down the names and ages of people on the calender, and check it occasionally to make sure you're not missing anyones.
Also? Send out letters & birthday cards via the postal service / regular mail. This way, you can always say "Well..I DID send this OUT on your birthday, but you know the mailing system.. It usually takes a few days to get sent out".
I'm good at remembering my close friends' and family members' birthdays, but beyond that, I'm pretty useless, so that's why the calender thing works for me pretty well. :)

I was never one to keep my mob with me. I've not even played the games on it yet. ^^
I'll check out the scheduling part of the phone.
The calender is a good idea. I had once done this back in 2002, but it failed miserably for me. Remembering to check the calender is also something i keep forgetting to do. Next year i didnt mark the dates either.
lol. I remember doing that for Christmas. I was traveling most of the time and didnt have time to send the cards to some of my friends, so i could only post the cards on the 26th. I pretended i didnt know anything about the late arrival of the cards.

I just remember four birthday, which are my father's,my mother's,my girlfriend's and mine.

I too sometimes forget my friends birthday
.But when i think hard.It comes back to me.I only remember friends birthday who are close to me.I call and wish them.I also ask some of my friends for a treat because when my birthday is there they bug me for a treat.

it's not a easy thing for me to remember all my freinds' birthdays either,this discussion just reminds me about the birthday thing,I could remember my families'birthdays but I could only remember two or three friends' birthdays,I think we should write them down on the note.

I have written them in my diary planner. Unfortunately, most of the time im very busy with my studies that when i get a break, i just forget about checking the planner.
Once an exam is over, i feel like all the worries in the world is over for a while, and never think of things like birthdays or such.

Yes. remembering friends birthday is difficult to anyone. so I always write birthday of important friends. I use my mobile to set reminder,
