What would our founding fathers marvel at most?

When driving great distances I often ask myself this rhetorical question. Would General George be amazed by our military wares, Our Commerce (or lack there of at the moment), transportation, communications? Think of everyday things that we take for granted that would just stupefy past generations. I see Ben Franklin as having a "hip" side, I'm betting he'd be all "I freakin KNEW IT!". lol

I think they would marvel at the fact that the things they fought for and worked so hard to give future generations are so quickly put aside. Our country was founded on the idea that everyone had the opportunity improve themselves and get ahead instead many are willing to just get along. They had a strong belief in the free market and the chance to take a risk and profit from it or fail. They wanted this country to have a strong religious base where people were free to worship without government interference, instead we see the government trying to remove religion from every aspect of our lives.
On the positive side they would marvel that the country they created continues to fight for freedom for others. They would marvel at the fact that the basic system still works and has outlived other forms of government. They would marvel at what the people have done with their freedom and the progress they have made in becoming the greatest country in the world. They would marvel at the inventions and social progress we have made because we are a free people.
But I think what would be most amazing to them is the fact that we still have young men and women who are willing to give their life to protect their freedom, their counties freedom and to give freedom to others in the world. They would be very proud of our Armed Services Personal - an all volunteer force who are willing to give their all so that all may enjoy this country.

I don't think Govt is trying to remove religion, personally, I don't think religion should have anything to do with government. No one can remove your faith, if it is true, not even a govt.
I agree, they would be astounded, and PROUD by the size of our army/navy/air force/marines and armaments we have now.

If I had to pick one thing that would really confound the Founding Fathers of our country, and it's an appropriate question as Presidents Day approaches, I think they would be amazed the most by the amout of laziness among us! People today would have such different attitudes about working, family, food and of course religion that the Fathers would just keel over at a glance into our slothful society!
