When a man and a woman get married and say their vows, they swear to love till death do they part, in a sense they are swearing to love each other forever. Do you believe a person can really love another person forever? The reason I ask this question is because i am seeing so many "forever loves" ending. What do you think?

but why is nothing everlasting in this world? is it because we want things to last that aren't meant to or is it because forever love with someone can be found w/ anyone who you get along w/?

I believe in everlasting love. I think the problem now is that some people just jump into things too quick. I don't want to offend anyone here! A lot of people date for awhile and then don't know where to go from there so they get married. They don't know for sure if that person is the one for them, but they're afraid to leave and I think that's why "forever loves" end.

I completely agree with you. Everlasting love is possible but people do jump into it just too fast. Just because you've dated for a long time and you get along doesn't mean you are meant to be married(happened to my boyfriend w/ his ex) but now we have found love that we both now is going to last. If you dont feel right than dont get married

OMG what WAS I thinking???? Actually, I dated and married very classy people. I wouldn't have gone out with someone who wasn't classy or high minded, nice looking, neat and educated. Would any of them lasted ina marriage? Probably not. People ahev to have a lot in common or be very good friends to keep a relationship fresh. My second marriage has lasted because I learned from the 1st.

(playing devils advocate) but if your first marriage didnt last than why when we get married do we say the vows we say and promise to love each other till we die? And who are we to make a promise break it and than make another one? I am glad your second marriage is going better than your first.
