Do you know your neighbours well? How many did you know about your neighbourhood? I bet you don't really know who is your neighbours, how he or she looks like. Well, it seems that nowadays we are so busy to work out our jobs, our family and hence, we don't have time to chat or even saying a 'hi' to our neighbours. Sometimes, i feel that the problems aren't all comes from us. I found out that most of our neighbours don't want to know or join the neighbourhood. After working or from somewhere home, they will close all their windows, door and even put on all their curtain close. They don't even bother about things around their neighboorhood.

Ya I'd like to sue my nieghbors for beibg pot heads but can't afford to! I can't afford to move at this time either! I hope my nieghbors move out this spring! I say that because most never sign a one year less and move out after a year! In the spring it'll be a year for them! These people aren't the first nieghbors to pain in the butt! I've had ones that played musis at night so loud you could hear it 2 blocks away! Good neighbors are hard to find!

My neighbourhood is pretty quiet and I live in these modern block of flats! Anyway, I know my neighbours or I recognise them when I see them but we hardly ever chat. This is the sad state of the world! I'm only 34 years of age but you sometimes hear the old folk chat about how they always used to invite their neighbours in, this just does not happen anymore in today's world! This probably sounds like a defeatist kind of view. I think that generally everyone sticks to their own business and just does not want to get involved with anyone else. I'm ok with this although I'm perfectly happy to say hello whenever I seem them and if I'm lucky we will have the odd chat here and there! Welcome to My Lot. Andrew

I live in an RV park and most people know their neighbors. There are well over a thousand people living in this Park in Alamo Texas, and we have a lot of fun together. This morning 75 members of our bike club biked several miles to breakfast at a local Restaurant. We wear shorts and matching green iridescent T-shirts. We took up a whole block as we rode along. We have numerous games, and exercises that take up many hours of the day. We live and play together in Harmony. Yes we do know our neighbors. We care about them, and we play and chat with them every day of the week.

I agree. I lived in this neighborhood for 3 years but I barely know my neighbor. I always say Hi to everyone that I see, but they just ignore me. Last time, I saw one of my neighbor and tried to chit chat with her... she didn't really show appreciate to talk to me or something... so, I quickly say Good bye. The next morning, I woke up around 5am to go to work and I saw her mom and I said HI, She didn't even bother. It is hard to do it alone, cuz they look you in a bad way or something.

The only reason that I knew my neighbors when I lived in Maryland was because I had kids and you get to know other parents and neighbors when you have kids. When we moved down here to Florida we were lucky enough to buy property one block over from my husband's family so we have a lot of relatives nearby plus people my husband has known for years. There are some folks we don't really know but they wave when they drive by if we're outside because this is a very friendly area.

With me you'd lose your bet. We only have one house close enough to be called neighbors, and we know the entire family. We've only lived here 2 1/2 years, but we met our neighbors shortly after moving in. However, we lived in our old house for 20 years, and there were neighbors I didn't really know. Especially the non-English speakers who moved in next door.

I know my neighbors from our street. We have an association that protects and serves one another. We help in beautifying and securing our place. And during occasions, we are celebrating together. And we are there for each other in times of needs.

I know almost everyone in the neighborhood. I have been living here over 30 years and all of the residents here have done the same. Our children grew up together, played together, went to school together. So we are a close community. Yes I know my neighbors.

I felt the same. Whenever I walk to my mailbox to get my daily mail, or do some yard work. We won't even bother to say "hi" to our next door neighbors. At night, it was so quiet on my surrounding, and literally no one to talk to. That is how we live our lives here, I guess.

I agree with you. I live here for 3 years and yet I really don't know what their names and I don't even bother to know. I just smile at them when they see me.

I live in a small apartment building and I know some of my neighbors better than others. The people that live right down the hall are very friendly and always giving my kids treats. the neighbors downstairs don't like us because my son messed with some of their plants. We have some other neighbors further down the hall that seem nice but don't speak much English. Overall I get along with most of my neighbors but I very seldom remember their names.

I know a couple of my neighbors, but not too many. I am the type who prefers to just keep to myself. The only reason I know the neighbors that I do know is because they all have kids that play with my kids.

We've lived here for about three years now, and we're slowly getting to know our neighbors. We reside in an apartment complex so neighbors come and go frequently. Our management though is doing a lot to encourage community by hosting game nights, etc in the club room. There are definately a few neighbors though that we've known since we first moved in who we know their name and say hi in passing, or stop to chat a bit. I think it's more difficult though in apartment setting to truly get to know your neigbors.
