A Night with Tinsley Ellis - I so enjoyed spending an evening listening to Tinsley Ellis last night. He's a fine Southern Blues artist.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJyHJrpiWaY&feature=related My ex boss ex wife treated me to a special birthday present & took me to see Tinsley Ellis last night. I had never heard of him but he was pretty dayum good. His mentor was BB King & he used to jam with the Allman Brothers & Marshall Tucker. The link will take you to one of his songs. If you like there are others there for your pleasure. I will warn you that it is Southern Blues (I know that shocks you) For those of you brave enough to listen, what did you think???

You have GREAT taste...BB King is truly one of the BEST!!! I had never heard of Tinsley Ellis until my girlfriend called & said she wanted to take me to a blues concert for my birthday. I expected some good blues, but I found some really good blues. I was shocked to hear he had been around for over 20 years never wavering from the music that he loved.

The man certainly knows his way around a fretboard! I will most certainly check out his other stuff, I like southern blues especially on a dark and cloudy day like today!

Tinsley Ellis - He's my man of the day. Check him out on mySpace & listen to some more of his music. He has I believe it's 11 albums. :)
I really enjoyed 3 hours of his blues. Not bad for him & a bassist, an organist & a drummer. Them 4 guys belted out some excellent blues. Since posting this, I found a better site for some of his music. I think you might like Hell or High Water too. These aren't videos...just some of his songs!!! Hope you enjoy!!! http://www.myspace.com/tinsleyellis

Yes, he's a little long in the tooth!!! Since he had jammed with The Allman Brothers & Marshall Tucker, I assumed he had been floating around for quite a while. Sad that he has not caught on as he is one talented man. YES, the bass player is awesome. They've been together for 20 years..or so he said. He indicated that he played at this location about once a year. It's about an hour from my house....but oh so worth it!!! I'll be watching to see him on his next visit!!!
