He didn't move for a few moments and his head was inches from the back tire!

He was riding a bicycle on the way to the store for his mom. Always riding the same path and direction that he had always rode before. Until, it happened, SMACK, and the sound of a bicycle being crushed and the sudden stop of the firebird transam. Thank goodness, the driver stopped as he did, because if he didn't I wouldn't be alive today, sharing this with you. You see, the young person riding his bicycle was me. Although, subconsciously I knew I should ride my bicycle against traffic, but it was just a poor habit I had developed over the years of bicycle riding, and it hadn't sunk into my thick skull that I needed to change my reckless way of riding, or else I might not have the opportunity to change it if I were to get hit by a car one day. Sure enough, that moment in my life changed my world because for the next 18 months, I would have to spend 9 of them in a body cast, not able to move, just lie still and was waited on hand foot. And once out of the cast, I had to go through another 9 months of physical therapy. What ever happened to that kid that rode that bicycle against traffic at the age of 14? Well he survived, and today, is happily married, with 3 small children of his own to properly teach and inspect that they learned what he has taught them actually sticks before the consequence of not following the instructions of those in your life catches them in the wrong moment. Do you know the drive that hit me, never stopped by to see how I made out? I guess he figured it wasn't his fault so why should he even bother? Sigh... Okay, the discussion is about have you ever done something, that changed the life of other people that you knew you shouldn't have done, but you did it anyway? That day, I changed my mom's other brothers, friends and extended families lives, for a period of 18 months, I couldn't do much for myself, but had to rely on others to care for me. It was disheartening. What's your story, or do you dare share? I promise not to laugh, unless you're cracking jokes in your response, that I find funny.
