I have decided that I know I am getting older when I can no longer understand how to turn on the TV...Thats right...cant turn on the TV...its got something to do with a combination of buttons from those 2 converters hubby has by his chair..Now he could make it all happen with one but then I would be able to figure it out, right?...lol.. Cell phones...yup I can answer them and even make a call. Just recently, I learned how to do text messages but once while trying to work the camera, accidentally sent a blank message to a friend on the other side of the world in the middle of the night. At least I think shes still my friend...Could be thats why she was the one who taught me to text message...lol..or wish she didnt!! MP3 players? DOnt have a clue..didnt even know what they did til i asked my son.IPODS too...what are they for?...Really, I cant keep up...Im not sure I can even work all the buttons on my microwave..Ive never really tried!!..Ever wonder why I spend so much time here on mylot lately??..cause I dont know how to do much else with this computer except facebook..Ive caught onto that realllllllllll good! HOw to use my digital camera?...All i can do is click the pic..as for going into the menu and changing settings and so on...forget it!! I wonder if I can still find film for my old polaroid....BUt I have learned how to download the pics I do take..Or is that upload??...lol...Help me, Im drowning in the sea of technology...Soon I am going to forget it all and read a good book..Perhaps a how-to manual would be a good start! HOw about you? Can you use all the modern technology and understand all the terms?

Hi it takes some time for me to get acquainted with those buttons and their functions.and after that its just as easy as anything else...even younger people are much more faster than me.manuals only give you the knowledge about all that functions of buttons. but i think you need to try them out yourself to be perfect...

technology is for everyone,it makes life simple and easy. why it never comes to their mind that old generation is finding it difficult to cope up with the things...

Hi..I have to agree with you..I usually end up putting the instruction book down and just trying everything out for myself...Practise makes perfect...I need to learn hands on and not by reading...Im surprised I read my own discussions on here!!..lol

Have you tried reading the manuals that come with your electronic devices? If I don't know how to do something, I read. Regardless of what it is. Learning new things is something we do every day.

yup, sure do...lol...but then i just dont have the patience...I want to use these things but arent the least bit interested in how they work...I love to learn new things but not technology I guess...I would do fine back in the times of Little HOuse on the PRairie... I read the instructions and find them so boring that I dont even know what I just read...It happens once you pass 40!!...lol..

I think after a while our brains say enough and it becomes information overload..either that or Im getting lazy and cant be bothered to keep up...lol..Also I guess the patience to learn, isnt as great as it once was or the ability to retain information...Well these are my excuses and Im sticking to it!!.. Thanks for responding..:)
