Flowers, heart shape stuff, balloons, teddy bears, these are just some of the crazed we've seen during "Valentines Day". We obviously see how a lot of people spends so much time preparing for such occasion. And as we observed, it seems that this date, "FEBRUARY 14" is no like an ordinary day. We can obviously feel the difference of the atmosphere in our surroundings. And it really makes me wonder, what so special about this day? Okay, granted, it's for lovers and couples, and as everybody quoted "LOVE DAY". But aren't we shows love to our special someone even it's not Valentines Day? What's so special about this February 14 or as we all know Valentines Day? Some thoughts???

Valentine's Day is totally a materialistic holiday to most. Card companies, flower companies, and restaurants market this holiday for people to spend MONEY. The original intent of the holiday in celebrating LOVE has been forgotten. My boyfriend is NOT a materialistic person. He totally thinks that Valentine's Day is just another day. This year was our first Valentine's Day. I was totally sick with my MS and I had thrush from the steroids, I was taking 18 different types of medicine that either caused nausea or caused me to pass out asleep. I was so out of it that I didn't know that it was V Day. Since I was so sick, while I was asleep, he ordered take out food from my favorite place. He ran out to the store and picked up a dozen roses a small box of chocolate. When I awoke there was food. Candles lit on the table and the roses were in the kitchen for me to see when I went to go and take my next round of meds. I was soooo excited, even though I hadn't showered....I looked like a wreck (steroids really bloat you!)....and I'm sure I smelled like I was sick (I also had a horrible flu bug). But he wanted to make it special for me. Of which he didn't and he didn't spend a lot of money. He also put in another movie that I wanted to see so that I could fall asleep on the couch again. Then when I awoke and I was up for my couple of hours we played Leggo Batman because I really couldn't do much else. But we had a blast staying up late and playing video games. Doesn't sound like it would be a special Valentine's Day to most girls but it was the best that I had in a really long time. He already told me that next year he wants to make sure that I won't be sick so that we can go out to eat at our favorite restaurant and then come home to spend that special time together playing video games (he digs my video games skills!). LOL. What about you? What would make your Valentine's Day special?

In this busy life it is extremely important to set apart a special day for showing love to someone you care the most. This day gives you time to spend some sweet moments with him/her. And nobody else would mind at all.
