myLot...I don't quite understand.

February 15, 2009 11:36am CST
Over these past few days, I've been using Mylot quite regularly, and I've been posting links to my blog (I won't post a link here otherwise I'll get flamed again!)whenever I felt it was needed. People keep saying it's not allowed, and I don't quite understand why. On the discussion guidelines it says you can't post links to affiliate programs, which my blog isn't and you can't post it over and over on a discussion, which I don't, I only post it once. How comes people are still saying I'll get banned, I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong. I would really appreciate the help, thanks.

It does say you can't post links to affiliate programs in the guidelines. I dont see any problem posting any other kind of link to a news story or something of interest. It could be the nature of your blog that has people flaming you as it is a guide to making money and contains affiliate links. So in essence people might consider that just as bad as posting the links themselves. I would suggest that if you need to mention your blog, don't post the link just to be safe and just tell people the link is in your profile. Hope that is of help and good luck with the blog.

It is usually assumed that when you post a link to your blog that it is just to make money. So myLot does not like you do to that. The best thing is to pm people or to tell them to check your profile and make sure that there is something on the profile that is not all about making money. You can also post your link on your profile. You have to go about it in a roundabout way.

I think you have to post your website in other sites. It is banned here in mylot. But I came across mylot, and I found one person has given his website link in mylot. I think it is possible to post your website here.
