If you or your partner are going to have a baby...or if they are not, then Pretend; what would you like to name the boy or girl? What is your favorite girls name or boys name and why? Would you or have you ever legally changed your name to your favorite name? Would you ever consider naming your child after yourself or your partner and why? If you would name your child after either of you would you do it because you like the name or because you want to have your/your partners name to be carried on? Have you ever named your child after one of you and then regretted it? Maybe you decided you don't like your name or maybe you named the child after your partner and now you have split up?;)

My first boy's name is gonna be Jonathon Christopher. It has such a nice ring to it :] and my first girl is going to be soemthing like Anisse :] I would never legally change my name to anything else just becuase i love my name and because it was given to me by my mom. I wouldnt name my child after either me or my partner at that time because id like them to have their own individual names. I dont like that "jr" stuff.. lol

Hi NessaFilth! I also like the name Christopher and when I was younger I was going to name my 1st son Christopher. Then as I got older I started liking a few other names like Joshua, Justin, Jason...I don't know what happened I just got into the "J" names for some reason! I have a brother-in-law whose name is Johan Christophe, it is the Dutch equivalent to your Jonathon Christopher and I absolutely love the name. Of course no one calls him by that name, everyone calls him Jon but it is a nice name to have even if it's not used! I also always like the name Anthony because I love the nickname Tony. Thanks for your response! ;)

In The Boss's family there is always someone (male) named Leo. This used to get quite confusing when her dad was alive. He was Leo, his eldest son is called Leo and HIS eldest son is called Leo. If anyone called out "Leo".... you can imagine the scene! We have a daughter that we named Clare. If we had had a boy I wanted to call him "Athelstan Saxmundham". The Boss objected for some reason. We'd not have forgotten his name anyway.

There you are Pikey!! I have been wondering where you were! I can imagine everyone running when you say Leo...it would be great if you needed something moved or a big chore done! Then you would have all kinds of help and you wouldn't have to lift a finger...think of that next time you're all together!! I swear I don't know what is wrong with "The Boss"!! I personally think Athelstan Saxmundham is a lovely name...and I am just positive that he would be forever grateful and thankful while he was growing up and after he grew up!! Thanks Pikey for responding and keep up that practicing! ;)

My favorite girl's name is Mckenna, I love it. I think it's so pretty. :D I personally don't like naming babies after people in the family for a few reasons. The first is usually one person ends up "Big ___" and the other "Little ___" and then is stuck being "Little ____" for his entire life, lol! Also the credit companies mess up the credit reports for fathers/sons with the same name all the time. My boyfriend is a 3rd generation Dave and his brother is the 5th person in his family named Joe. I really would rather not name our baby Dave (David) and add to the confusion at family get-togethers, but we'll discuss it when the time comes, if it's really important to him, we can do it. I would rather my child have a name of his or her own.

Hi Cortypants! Oh, I like the name Mckenna also, it's a very nice name and something that you don't hear every day either. But if I was going to name a daughter Mckenna then I would change the spelling to McKenna...I know it looks like a last name but I like the way it looks on paper better! Personally I like for a child to have their own name also for the same reasons as you do but I also think that maybe if they inherit a name then maybe they think they have to live up to that persons expectations and that may put a lot of pressure on them. If you're named after someone and maybe that person is a brilliant whatever then maybe the child will feel that they have to be a brilliant whatever also and maybe that is just not in them, maybe they want to do something different and unique, that's why I would like for them to have their own, unique name because each and every person is unique and different in their own way. Thanks for responding! ;)

I don't know about girls names, but I have boy names that I like. I like the name Micah, and I like the name Jason...I especially like the two together...Micah Jason! I don't know why, it just appeals to me! I think naming your kids after your partners is cool, but you need a nickname for them. But what would I know? I'm not even married!

Hi joyoustreasures! Oh I've always liked the name Micha too and Micha Jason sounds like a great name for a boy! Since you like the name Micha for a boy you might like the name Michaela for a girl, I've always been partial to that one also. It is a Hebrew name for a girl and it means: "who is like God"! Thanks for responding! ;)
