It was not by choice but by necessity that I have raised my daughter as a vegitarian. She has refused meat since she was an infant, and it has been very tough! She is picky about everythig, but trying new things was always our challenge. I will say this to you. You child will not starve himself. If he is hungry enough, he will eat! Just try feeding him off of your plate, and eventually he will try something that he likes and you will have a new food to add to his repetoir... I know it's hard to see your kid not eating, but they will eat if they get hungry. Be strong!

You can make spinach ball. It is frozen spinach bread stuffing and eggs. Then baked. I'm sure that you could use other vegetables too. Carrots, whole green beans that are cooked tender crisp are also a good finger food. Summer and zucchini are also good finger foods. Or you can put the zucchini in cakes or brownies or even the pancakes..

Tender crisp beans are just green beans that are still crunch or crisp or not cooked until they are mushy when you stop cooking them.

what foods do you eat? even if its messy just allow him to use his fingers it will all clean up make sure there is a spoon/fork handy though and eat with him so he can watch what you do with the fork etc he will soon learn b ut until then ANY food can be finger food it might be messy but that really doesnt matter. My girls often ate spag bol with their fingers its NOT a finger food but it all cleaned up easy enough just save messy meals for the evening then he can jump straight in the bath after makes cleaning a bit easier! have fun x

why not cut vegies into finger size, toss with olive oil and garlic and roast, you can make enough for a couple of days, if he'll eat leftovers. You can also buy block cheese and cut that into fingers. Toasted whole grain bread brushed again with olive oil and rubbed with garlic, then toast in oven I think you can get him a pretty rounded diet, Top this off with fruit served as finger food. Good luck

You can make little cubes of cheese from any hard cheese like chedder, baby carrots are good, apple and orange slices, grapes, cherry tomatoes, fresh strawberries, olives are a good finger food. They have all kinds of vegetarian "meats" that he can finger like vege hotdogs and corndogs, vege sausage patties or links.

At 17.mon. he's, going to be picky, when you are eating say humm with every bit he is going to look at you strange and start thinking about your food don't offer him any wait to he ask for some and then give him some and say humm. My carrot recipe is slice carrots with brown sugar, honey, margerine, cinnammon. Chopped broccoli with butter salt pepper melted cheese optional. kernal corn butter salt pepper. I mean Lawry's seasom salt not the white table salt. My mom uses Mrs. Dash on her vegtables.

Recipezaar.com and Allrecipes.com should have a ton of recipe for finger foods. They're usually under appetizers. Maybe you can make mozzarella sticks, but include chopped veggies in them. Or, make fish sticks from scratch, but add veggies inside. Does he like dip? Veggies are tasty with dip. Both sites I listed have tons of veggie dip recipes too.

It may sound cruel but for breakfast you should have given him the chicken and potatoes. Try chicken wings cut in half or the wingettes thats already cut and cheese on the mash potatoes be careful on the cheese he can become constipated. Also season your chicken with the Lawry's season salt and black pepper and the potatoes use the season salt, white pepper because kids don't like the black pepper specks and margarine. Don't give in if you really want more variety food for him but in time as he grow up he will want something different He's only a baby. Oh don't stess him out about this. My seconds son went days with out eating when he was about 3 yrs. old and the doctor told me when he get hungry enough he will eat and he did. Good luck.

HI i have tried to give him supper for breakfast. No way that dont work! He wont eat any mashed potatoes I have even tried with cheeze whiz which is my favorite! NO luck! I cant add any pepper or salt to his foods he is not aloud to have salt due to heart problems. So I have another delema! I have to watch the sodium levels in foods that I buy! No processed stuff all to much salt.

Hi, Got your message and like I said he just baby and will grow out of this stage but I have one more suggestion. I was watching Oprah one day and I think it was Seinfield wife that wrote a cook book on how to puree vegtables and use them as a batter before you cook and they tested it out on some kids and they loved it. I will find out the name of the book and get back to you.

My son use to eat like that but I just stop giving him those things and gave him healthy food he wouldn't eat it at first but I didn't give him anything else. Ater a day and a half he ate what I gave him. But I did cut it up for him in stripe like finger food. Plus you didn't say how old your child is.
