I am looking for some ideas for outside play for a 6 year old girl... We tried the chalk on side-walk, but that got boring after a while… My daughter doesn’t want to go to the park, she wants to play in her own yard, but when she wants to go outside, we really don’t have much, just an empty yard.. so I need some good ideas from you mylotters! I was thinking about getting her some skates/rollerblades for some kind of outside activity… we have a bike already… but you know these things get boring fast to a kid… So, someone… give me a good idea that will be fun & is for outside play only that a child my daughters age might enjoy! Also have a 3 year old son... so bring on the ideas...

What about a small sandbox? My kids play in theirs for HOURS. Maybe you want to create a small garden in the corner and let them plant some carrots and tomatoes, things that are easy to grow. Bowling? You can buy those plastic sets that are great for driveways.

That was weird. Sorry for 2 postings, it hung there forever and nothing was happening. I came up with another idea - build a fort!

You don't even really need a sandbox, you can get one of those cheap blow up plastic pools, they work just as well. I don't think anyone's going to steal that, especially when it's full of sand!

You know, thats a good idea.. about the sandbox... My problem is, we don't have a gate around our yard & I would be afraid someone might steal it, but I think I'm still gonna go for it... Where did you get your sandbox & do you think Wal-Mart might have a sandbox with a lid for bad weather? Hmm... I think I'm gonna go sandbox shopping... LOL! Thanks!

All you need to do is give them an old spoon and some tinfoil pie plates or old pans and they can play house and make mud pies etc. Imagination goes a long way and I know I filled many an hour playing like this...In the winter they can make snowment and snow angels etc. Also, for summer a sprinkler...You really don't need much...I see you have some great ideas already...Love the idea of the sand box and also a play house of some kind! Good Luck! ~Heavens~ Also, I just thought of something else I used to do with my cousin who was a boy...I would play in the sand and we would make roads to drive all of his cars on! We would do that for hours!!!
