We didn't really do anything for valentines day. My husband and I believe that there is more to marriage then spending a single day doing nice things for each other. We try to do that DAILY. With 3 small children taking time for us can sometimes be very challenging, but we manage. It can be something as simple as him fixing dinner if I have had a hard day at work and I am tired. Or, me going out and mowing the lawn for him if get called into work on the weekend. That doesn't seem like much but we have an acre to mow. We talk every night about our day, our concerns for our life as a married couple, worries for our childrens future, what the next day may hold in store. we also take time at the dinner table to talk about our "good" things that happened that day, as well as our "bad" things that have happened. This isn't just between my husband and me, we involve the children too. It is important to see what is going on with them to, it is our time to connect as a family. So you see, valentines isn't an important DAY to us, every day is important.

I agree with you. Each day with our loved ones should be spent like it is Valentine's day. We should express and show our love to them each day and not just on certain occasions. This year, I spent Valentine's day at the hospital to look after a sick sister. I could have gone on a date with my husband but I thought someone is in greater need to feel loved so we went to visit her instead. She is back home now and we continue to pray for her recovery.

Unfortunately, my husband and I couldn't really do anything really special for Valentine's Day. I had to work all that day. However, we were able to spend some time together the next day. It's not really that quantity of the time usuage, it's the quality.

My husband and I spent 14 Feb at home watching a movie on the dvd. It was comfortable, no crowd, no traffic jam, very economical, away from all the noise except the sound from the movie.........

Hubby and I went to have a simple dinner in a restaurant that we discovered recently. Funny coz the restaurant is called Tokyo cafe but most of the dishes are italian, like pasta and pizza. I love the seafood carbonara pasta they have. I had to forget my diet for a day. Hubby and I went home really happy with what we ate.

our vday celebration was quite toned down compared with what we planned.. we woke up and lingered in bed with our hilarious pillow talks and wrestling haha. then he cooked something special and we watched a movie on our cable shows. then we played red alert until nighttime and had fun creating strategies together. This day was different for us since there's no rush, no traffic, less expenses and more attention showered to each other.

It's good to know that you all had a wonderfulV-day... Me? Ain't got no v-date because my husband was off to Thailand. He was sent there to finish a project (a semicon industry) for a couple of weeks. We just got married last Decmber 6, 2008... and this is the saddest v-day I ever had...
