I had thought I had seen it all in the world of cats, but this tops it all!

I've lived with cats all my life, and I have read about them just about as long, but I've NEVER seen something like this happen!!! Willy came sailing into the kitchen with something hanging from his mouth about a half an hour ago. Bill, my BF noticed it and called my attention to it...the thing hanging from Willy's mouth was a huge mouse! I mean it was a mouse and it had to have a glandular problem because it was double the size of normal mice...and I've seen enough mice to know that this was definitely a mouse. Anyhow, he started doing the normal cat thing of playing with the mouse. He was really getting into it, spitting and growling and doing cat things. He picked up the mouse, walked across the floor towards the litter box...then, of all things, he put the mouse down and got in the litter box to potty!!! The mouse sat there looking just as stunned as I did and then it realized it had a reprieve and ran like hell. Meanwhile, Willy finished his potty and decided to get up on his shelf and get ready to take a nap. I'm watching this in awe...he started to settle down in his box when you could see it enter his mind that "Hey, I had a mouse, now what did I do with it?????" He jumped down from the shelf and the search began. Of course the three other cats had to help, and so far no one has found that mouse. Gee, thanks Willy, I now have a mouse loose in my home...I really needed this. While I am shaking off the awe, has you cat done something like that? What weird things have they done that left you wondering "What were they thinking?" While you're answering, I will be checking my feet for that mega mouse!

I have never known a cat to just set the mouse down to let it get away. My cat has never caught a mouse or anything like that, she doesn't chase mice cause well we don't have any, or if we did they are in the basement or they are hiding. But that is pretty funny.

I was amazed, but then I have to stop and realize that Willy is more of the football player of the pair, Khuay his brother would be the ballet dancer. Khuay is the cat pictured in my avatar. Willy has a shorter attention span, and I guess when you gotta go you gotta go!! It was just amazing to see...if I hadn't seen it for myself I wouldn't have believed it either! Then of course there was the possie of four cats searching for the outlaw mouse!! I just hope they found it sometime last night. I live in the country, so of course we do have tons of mice...usually outside though. With the cats I usually don't have them come in the house...except for last night.

That was one very lucky mouse, my cat is always catching mice as I am always finding the bodies outside but one night she bought a live one in and it got away, ran under a cupboard and I can say it was the worst nights sleep i had had in a long time, I could here little scratchings, it was a bad night for me, I am hoping the mouse got out as I hate the thought that it could still be in here, I hate them...

I don't mind mice as long as they stay out of my way. I've gotten pretty contryfied after living here for 26 years this July, but I am not to partial to mice in the house. My grand daughters were here and thought that they would scare the daylights out of me by showing me a field mouse. They were disappointed when I petted it gently on the top of its head...and then we released it where the cats couldn't get it. I was totally amazed at Willy and what he did last night!

Honestly, I'm telling you...You just GOT to write a book about all you furbabies adventures as they are so hysterically funny...uh, have you found the mouse yet, or did your cat find it again. Well this was years, and years ago when I had more kitties...It was on Thanksgiving, and all my cats were turkeyholics....a whole bunch would suddenly become sentinels and guard the kitchen waiting for the Thanksgiving turkey to be done. Once roasted and done I'd take it out and OF COURSE, would give them turkey first...aww..didn't want my kitties to faint with hunger (right, sure)...okay now start cutting up some turkey for my mom and me and fix plates with the Thanksgiving feast. So here we are, my mother and I eating our Thanksgiving dinner, when all of a sudden one cat runs like a bat otta hell. He had somehow managed to grab a WHOLE turkey drumstick from the roaster pan on top of the stove. I had to dash up, chasing him all over the place...if I got near him he'd start growling at me, as if to warn me.."How dare you want to take my prize away"--I did eventually, but not until I had to chase him all over the apartment about twenty times.

That's pretty weird, especially since he has killed mice before, does he normally eat his kill? Because I had a cat that would catch mice but never eat them, they were just toys. So one day when she caught a shrew, it screamed which startled her because they're louder than mice, and she let it go. We also had a terrier that would catch mice, but then just lay it down on her bed to play with later. But of course we'd move the stunned mouse back outside to run away.
