Visiting several locations that are near one another

I love to travel and have found it handy when some locations that I have wanted to see have been close each other. One of my best trips was a cheap flight to Cancun and then a trip around a bit of Mexico, Belize and the northern part of Guatemala. I saw Mayan ruins, snorkeled the reef and stayed for a few nights in a tall tree house. In 2010 I thinking of flying to Vancouver and spending 1st July Canada Day there. My birthday is on 4th July so I could pop down to Seattle for that to enjoy the Independence Day celebrations. Have you been able to visit several nearby places on the same trip? If so which ones? If not can you think of one place you would like to go that has other locations of interest nearby?

LOL... "Pop down to Seattle" I like that. Still, it's what they do. When I flew to Vancouver and then on to Portland, the plane from Vancouver to Portland was a turbo prop... you know, one of those like they're on a piece of elastic, bobbing up and down! lol. The flight took one hour and three minutes, and was full of day-trippers who had been shopping in Vancouver. There were dogs, people with shopping bags, and all, on the plane! I lived in Germany for three years in my younger days... the north of Germany. From there, I visited Belgium, Holland, Bavaria and the South of Germany... Alps region. That's the nearest I've got to anything like your trip! Brightest Blessings.
