hey, my fellows, I'd like to hear your college life in different cultures. It must be fun to share our campus life no matter it is dull or harsh or whatever.

College was amazing! I loved it. I lived on campus so I got to know so many people and learned a lot outside of the classroom instead of in the classroom. I listened to my friend play his guitar in the gazeboo at night, or go out with my roommate and some friends at midnight for coffee. I miss it sometimes.

I'm also quite curious about college life in other countries! Right, I'll start: I'm from Belgium, Europe. I'm currently studying at the university of Leuven. Academical year starts last week of September, we have 13 weeks of courses, then 2 weeks Christmas 'break', and one other week off to study for exams, which take place second half of January-start of Februray. After exams, one week without courses, and then start of second term, 6 weeks of courses, 2 weeks of Easter break, 7 weeks of courses, 2 weeks off to study, and again exams in June. If you're lucky and didn't fail any exams, after June you're free till the end of September. If you failed one or more exams, you have to retake them in the second half of August-start of September. So far for timing lol, now 'life'. There are roughly 2 kinds of students: those who hire a room near campus (like me) or those who go home everyday, because they live close or can't afford to hire a room, or don't want to, or aren't allowed to. (Belgium is not a very big country, I for instance have to travel only one hour and a half to get home). Usually, students who hire a room stay in Leuven during the week and go home (with the laundry lol) for the weekends and holidays. Leuven really is a university city, almost half its inhabitants are students, and you can feel that in the atmosphere. The typical night to go out is Thursday, though there are parties every night, and the wekend is rather boring, as most of the students are home then. Each 'domain' of study (e.g. Engeneering, Medecine, Law, Economics, History,Literature and Linguistics,...) has got its own student organisation, they organise parties, but also sell course material, represent students and so on. There are also lots of sports groups, music groups (I'm in the university choir, and there's a symphonic and harmonic orchestra as wel), theatre groups,... associated with university. Sorry for this enormous post, I'm really happy with my unversity and college life in general, so I wanted to share :-)

hi, Evoli, I read through your response without a word missing. I'm from China and you are from Belgium. they are totally different. You have so many offdays which chinese colleges don't offer. Unlike European colleges, final exams are always passable for majority students. very few have to retake it. Thank you and enjoy you school life.

iM back to my hometown so college is just fine, they way I expected. It's very challenging especially with my course, it takes a lot of hardwork and courage. Sometimes I do get bored studying but then I just have to think, being a student is better than working

That's right, I'm working and the most desirable job for me is to be a student forever. To learn whatever interests me.

Collge life is different and hard and also frustrating at times. There is always some deadlines and i always seem to be the last to turn in everything. I do not go to college on a campus i do my college online and i believe it to be less stress for me. I dont have to drive and waste my gas, my college wants people to dress up while on campus like for business so i dont have to do that either. College is alot of hard work but it will pay off in the end at least i hope it will.
