I used to be a big meat eater. I mean, I never thought i could live without it. However, a few years back, I saw some chickens being freshly killed and cut up in front of me to sell. After that, i just didn't feel like eating meat anymore. Has anyone else also had a similar experience? And did it make you also turn vegan afterwards? I also feel being a vegetarian is more healthy. The animal who's meat we are eating could have been having some diseases as well.

Being a true Vegan is extremely difficult. Since you have to forgo alot of item which include dairy products besides eggs, meats, etc. it becomes very difficult at times. I don't think I am suited for being a Vegan. I am a vegetarian. It is a less demanding group since I have a wider variety of food groups to choose from. The only items which I exclude from my menu are the meat items.

I turned vegetarian about 20 years ago. I use to think vegans were too extreme, but I learned more about the true reason they refrain from all animal products and ended up becoming vegan a couple years after. I agree, I think it is healthier. That is horrible to have to seen a chicken killed. I am sorry you had to see that

ok so I'm definitley not a vegan or vegetarian. I do respect people who are and I see their point. I usually don't eat very much meat and try to get more of my protein from from nuts. I could see myself one day possibly becoming a vegetarian though.
