Yes, and it's irreversible. My friend went swimming and remained two shades darker for the rest of his life. You have to take proper precautions and use plenty of sun tan lotion when swimming.

Hi rajfoe, Swimming is good for you as its tone your body and does not do anything to your skin colour, don't listen to your friends. Tamara

I guess they are thinking that the chemicals in a pool changes the tone of our colour. No, it does not, it will however change our hair if it is a light color it will get lighter. The sun will always darker our skin and the tone we have. UV rays of the sun is stronger than any chemicals in a pool. The chemicals will dry out your skin so use a moisturizer.

Yeah, because of the sun and the reflective water surface, we tend to get some tann whenever we are swimming.. Also, the most tann part will always be on our shoulder blade as it's out of the water most of the time, and it absorbs most of the rays ^_^ However if one is not careful and get sunburn instead, by time our skin heals, a new layer of skin has already grown out, and thus we will look fairer than the past ^_^

If you are swimming in pools with chlorine in them this will bleach your skin, but if you are swimming in natural bodies of water, like sea or lake or river I don't think it will change your skin. When you say blacken do you mean darken or lighten?

Water has nothing to do with the melanin in your skin. You may get a suntan or sunburn from the sun reflecting on the water, but that's about it!

Temporarily this would darken your skin especially if you go to the beach. Since constant exposure to sun and the salty water could darken your skin. But in a week or two you might get back your original color with a bit of pain in it while it is healing depending on how you were exposed to the sun. The thing is bring with you sun block to protect you from getting sunburned badly.

I think the outdoor activities are easy to make you have the suntan. It is normal, especially the swimming. As usually you will swim in the outdoor swimming pool or an ocean. But after a winter, I think your skin will be white again. I love China

Yes, this is true. It's already proven over and over again. Majority of white people wants to have a tanned skin. Ironically on the other part of the world. Tanned or people with darker skin used whitening cream to make their skin whiter. Maybe someday a skin color suit would be invented. Something you can buy in the store and wear just like a skin.lol.

Do you mean to ask if chlorine in a pool changes your skin colour, then the answer is no..it can change hair colour especially with dyed hair. It does not change your skin colour however..I have been swimming in chlorinated pools since I was very young and still do regularly..It can damage your hair but not change your skin colour..Always take a good shower after swimming in a pool to wash chlorine off of you , your hair and swimming suit If you are talking about swimming in the ocean or lake, then still no..The sun can either tan or burn you, but the water wont change anything.
