i think its a myth.. or maybe because in the christian faith they are the chosen ones so maybe they figure it means they are smarter? i have never heard of anything that actually proves it though..

When people discuss the concept of Jewish "choseness," they generally fail to ask the most important question of all: "Chosen for what?" Remembering that it was God who referred to them as "The Chosen People," the answer is really quite benign: that the Jews were chosen to exist as a witness to human history; to remain until the end of time so as to say, "Why didn't you listen? All you had to do was be nice to each other. To not do to others what you would not want done to yourself."

Hi sreejithsreenivas! Oh, I have never heard that before and if ever there is a talk like that, I don't think that it is entirely true. Maybe there are a lot of Jewish people who are intelligent but there are a lot of equally intelligent and talented people from different race too.

Their should be some scientific theory behind it and that's the reason they say that! Probably by measuring IQ or something! or maybe something else. And if you also notice the way Jews turned desert into Israel is quite amazing. They have succeeded a lot which is good enough proof to say that if not the most intelligent people then atleast one of the most intelligent people in the world!
