How many of you keep diary now? May be you don't have time, maybe you don't have the mood, but I think that we should keep a diary .I have a book,I won't write it in my computer,I like the feeling of writing on a beautiful book. You don't have to write everyday, just when you are upset or very happy, when you really wanna write something,do it ! When you back to see these words, you will have a wonderful or different feeling.

Oh, it's not really a formal diary where I start with 'dear diary', nor is it in a notebook where I write daily and update every time. It's more of a notepad in my yahoo email. Just at least once a year when I feel like writing about how I feel, though it's usually when I'm sad that I write there, but I'm trying to be more positive so I'd include the happiest days of my life. It's not on a regular basis, it's just around once or twice a year (maximum so far was 3x a year). It's more about love. How I love the person, how the person hurt me, and all those emo stuff that I don't want to forget. Indeed you are right when you said that when you go back to these words, you will have a wonderful or different feeling. I do read it at least once a year, and it makes me smile (even if it's sad), it makes me realize how mushy I was that time, or how innocent I was. It makes me glad that I wrote those stuff, and I'm also glad that it's not something that I'd grow tired reading about (perhaps it's because I don't write just any ordinary events or feelings, it's only a chosen few). I would recommend that people write their diaries. But not to be too dependent or attached to it. It's more of a way of keeping track of how you were few years ago. Makes you smile, makes you feel you're alive. How many years have you been writing your diary? Mine? The first entry was like 10years ago. Happy Mylotting!

I have never kept a diary... I dont know what the point of it is, but it seems like alot of people do it. It is mostly girls who seem to do this, they write a whole bunch of stuff and some day someone reads it and they find everything out about them. My Girl Friend has one... and she writes everything in it and one day one of her friends read it... and they got into a huge fight and now they never talk to eachother. They had been friends for sixteen years.

aww... that's very sad.... i understand why some people do not keep diaries... If it's a secret, then why produce some sort of evidence? But you see, "when a thought is written on a paper, it means that, the writer is HOPING that some one would read it SOMEDAY..." Timing is the key to it... Probably in due time, a diary could be freely read without anyone getting angry... My friends have read my diaries before, I have written a lot of stuffs which could have made them angry, but instead of feeling that way, we just laughed at the memories my diary made us remember... ^_^

I used to have diaries before. The one with lock and book mark, the traditional one. But I stopped writing in a traditional diary because there's always someone who read my diaries and my secrets are no longer secret because they also tend to tell others about it. Now, I keep an online diary. At least no matter what they do they will never know my password and open my online diary. I was just shocked once because the locket of my diary was totally destroyed. I don't know who did it but that made me decide to stop writing in my traditional diary.

Ya i have started writing diary after my marriage when i came to this understanding that my partner cannot absorb all my happiness and sadness. I do not write diary daily but do write on occasions like something new has happened into my life,i am excited ,happy or upset about anything. It is a good medium to express your feelings in a quiet and peaceful manner.

I used to write in a dairy. But I stopped. Decided it wasnt for me. It did not do anything for me. I understand that for some it helps take off some stress in their life but not me. If anything it reinforced that stress back into my life making me even more stressed. It had the opposite effect on me. So, I stopped. I dont think I will ever start again but I will also not stop others from doing it either.

i've kept a diary since i was 12 years old. though in the recent years, the frequency of writing in it declined. it went up a bit when i started an online (but private) journal. i also still keep a notebook handy, which is also a tool that i use for this workshop that i'm undergoing. i like reading back through old diaries and seeing how much i've grown all these years, even if at times, i feel really really stupid for having done those things in the past.
