Do you read the Newspaper?

This morning on our local news they were talking about how the newspaper sales are on the decline, Yet there is a local paper that is spending money on improvement by spending several thousand dollars for a new press. The press will save them money in the future by printing faster and creating a shorter in length paper. I use to get the paper delivered to my home but then downsized that to only Sunday's paper being delivered since I really had no time to read it during the week. I have now since canceled that too and maybe pick it up at a store if I want to read something or get the coupons. There are a few ways to get the news, the easiest way is via television. I watch the news in the morning before work and again at 5 and 6 at night. I also get some of the national news via the internet, very convenient. My questions, Do you get the newspaper delivered and if so how many times a week? Do you get your newspaper at the store or news stand and if so how many times of the week? Do you only get your local paper or do you get a national or larger city paper? Finally, What is your favorite way to get the news and why? Thank you for all your answers and input. Have a great day.

Hi From2009, If I had to take the bus and subway, I too would then have time to read the newspaper. It is a great source and a great use of your time. So far you are the 1st to respond and saying you get news by mobile, that is good way to get news too. Thanks for your response and have a great day.

I hardly read the newspaper nowadays because of my busy schedule. Anyway I make it a point to listen to the night news so I can always be updated with what's happening around. For news or information I wanted further details, I just check the web whenever I can manage.

Hi Giay, Life has a way of making us too busy for such things. It seems that the night news has more detail information than the morning news, that is why I like watching that best. I also like going to the local tv news stations website for more information. Thanks for your response and have a great day.

i do not get the newspaper and i do not read it. why bother when you can get all the news you want right on line. i hate reading a newspaper because i find it hard to maneuver the large pages and i really do not have time to look through one. if i am interested in knowing about a particular news item is simply look it up online and then i am on my way.

Hi Mikeysmom, It is a lot easier and faster to get the news online. Many days I log onto our local news station to get the stories. I do not get on the local newspapers website too often as they are now starting to charge you to get much of the news. You can only get a few stories and some highlights. You can even get some of the news right off of your homepage. I still like getting the weekend papers though. Thanks for your response and have a great day.

Hi Liguansheng, Thank you for your response. Many times the only thing you need to read is the local paper since you can get the worldly news easier by watching the news on television or off the internet. Thanks again and have a nice day.

Hi Rskarthik, You are very right about that. It is a way to open the world to us each day. I just wish I had the time every morning. I get most of my news at the end of the day on television. Thanks for your response and happy reading.

Hi Angemac, Sounds like you do not have time to read them either. I like the weekend papers, they give me time to sit quietly with my coffee and relax reading the papers. I do get a little news on the internet, but my main source is still the television. Thanks for your response and have a good day.

Hi Bbsr, I just never manage to have the time to read the paper on a daily basis. I am usually on my way to work before it is even delivered. I do like getting the Sunday Paper though. It is a good way to relax in the morning and enjoy the day. Thanks for your response and Happy Reading!

Yes, I like to read newspapers, I do it every 2nd day and definitely on the weekends when the newspaper is the most interesting because has saved up all the week news together. Answering to your questions: - Yes, I do get a newspaper delivered in my mail box once a week on each Saturday. - Other days I buy my newspaper in the store, I do it every 2nd day. - I get the local newspaper the most but sometimes I do buy larger papers. - My favorite way to get the news is to read them in the newspaper or watch TV news. I don't like reading news online on the internet, I don't know why.

Hi Lindery, I too like the weekend papers to catch up on all the news. I also read the smaller local paper a few days a week to see what is going on around me. I rarely look at the news on the internet unless I am visiting the local news website for a particular story or maybe they have a contest going on. Mostly, I get my news from the television. Thanks for your response and have a great day.

I read the newspaper every once in a while. The local papers have gone up in price and there is really nothing except local happenings in these papers. The larger city paper i get from the store on Sunday, and i get it mostly for the coupons. I get most of my news from the internet. The papers have all went up, and you aren't getting much in return.

Hi Dmrone, The cost of the papers are always increasing. I used to be able to read the whole paper on the internet, but now you can only get a few high lights and if you want more the you have to pay and join the papers website. With the rising cost and having to recycle, I now only get the Sunday paper on occasion, mostly for the coupons and to catch up on the news. It is easier to sit in front of the TV and watch the news. Thanks for responding and have a great day.

Hey Tudors, Thanks for your response. I tend to think that reading newspapers is becoming the thing of the past. I am glad you are still reading them and using that as a learning tool. Thanks again and happy reading.

It is a must for me to read at least 4 Newspapers daily. It is my favourite one. My local paper as well as national paper I get in the morning at 6 O clock every day in my house. There is no problem in that. I subscribe some 2 and nearly 4 I get and read from my workplace.

Hi Btt2005, Wow! That is a lot of reading in one day. I wish I had that time in the morning to read the paper with my coffee. I used to do that almost every morning, but I have changed jobs since then and I am usually out of the house by 6 am. Thanks for your response and happy reading!

Hi Shrrek, I agree with you that there is not much time in the day to read the newspaper. I may grab a headline and skim a story but not much more than that during the week. The newspaper is a good source when looking for a job and like we are doing here, looking for a house to buy. Mostly it is television where I get my news. Thanks for your response and have a good day.

No not really I hardly ever read the news paper. If I wanted to know the news I would just watch fox news or cnn. But sometimes at work during my break if theres a news paper around then ill read it because im bored and theres nothing else to do. But thats pretty much the only time I will.

Sometimes there are not enough hours in the day to read the paper. I do like to catch up on what I can on the Sunday paper or on the internet. Thanks for responding and have a good day.
