As much as I love Obama I can't help but wonder why he has to go to Denver to sign the stimulus bill. To me it seems like a waste of money in that the plane has to have gas, the pilots paid and he has to be put up somewhere! I thought most bills were signed in the Oval office or somewhere in the White House. Any ideas as to why he's doing this? What do you think about it? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090217/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_stimulus

That does sound wasteful and unfortunately many people in high positions don't even think twice about hopping on their private plane. They tell us to cut back, they tell us to go green, then they take the private jet wherever they want. Ever heard of a computer? You can email these things now, no need to go wherever the bill is.

Well personally I think it is hypocritical. Here Congress is pointing fingers at bankers and VP's from the auto industry about the same thing and here goes Obama off to sign a bill in another state, costing us -- the taxpayers, thousands of dollars just for him to sign a bill in another state and not the oval office? Come on! And people think he will fix the budget? Not like this. When it comes to cuts, he should be making his own fair share and not just jet off to wherever whenever the urge strikes.

I just remembered when I heard he came back from some convention or something in Hawaii and started saying how American's need to tighten their belts. Honestly I think many American's are tightening their belts a lot - cutting out restaurants every week, cutting out movies they used to always go to the theater, etc. Yet he was just in HAWAII for this! Do you know how much I'd love to just spend my money to go to Hawaii? I guess it's hard to hear "tighten your belt" from people who spend their money like this.

Obama is and always has been about publicity. If he signed the bill in Washington, it would have barely made the news. By going to Denver to sign it; it became "news" and got him some more publicity. Denver was not his only stop on this "trip", he was also down in Phoenix AZ for a while and seems to be running all over the US instead of staying home and getting his work done. He was one of the ones who complained when the auto industry flew to Washington in their corporate jets (these are actually small jets); but, he is flying around in Air Force One which is as big as 3 of the little jets AND for security reasons any time Air Force One is in the air one or more "decoy jets" also have to be in the air. Talk about waste and pollution! He is not for "change" except where it "changes his status". He is just another greedy wasteful lying politician!
