Yes, I do. You won't live forever, and you can't drink copious amounts of blood. I've written two articles on this but as I'm not allowed to copy and paste my articles or links until I reach 500 I'll have to give you the summary. TheZone already mentioned Sanguinarians. Those the types that drink blood.Typically a person can drink small amounts of human blood without becoming sick. The stomach will reject large amounts. You'll find people in clubs, and even private use sterile procedures to draw blood. It is not recommended by any practicing Sanguinarian to bite, tear, rip, or cut the skin. For starters, it makes the area unsanitary. You'd draw it just as if you were at the doctor's office and then put it into a sterile cup to drink from. Contrary to popular belief these people do not go around biting each other on the neck. There is too much room for error. The other arena for vampires in today's world are called Psychic Vampires, and they do exist. Again, I've written an article on this and published it along with the other, but I'll have to wait until I'm able to copy/paste to provide the link. Psychic vampires enjoy energy feedings. Generally energy is gained from a willing doner. With this type of vampire though, there are very unethical ones. These are the people that create victims, and feed off them without their consent. Typically these are the types of people you find who, let's say if there was an office setting, will give you a guilt trip for not doing something for them. They will use come backs such as "But, you're my friend" to gode you into continuing to give into them. They are the first to play victim when something doesn't go their way. The energy from these encounters can leave the actual victim very drained. Typically you'll find yourself lethargic, unable to focus, etc. Konstantinos and LaVey both speak of the Psychic vampire in detail. Now, interestingly enough is the entire vampire phenomenon that has hit the world is blamed foremost on poor Vlad, but interestingly enough there are vampires mentioned in historical records in just about every culture/country out there. Hope that helps a bit. Anora

In all honesty..the whole concept seems like an excused type of cannabilism to me. Everyone gets a "rush" when they do things they are forbidden or fiddle in the concepts that are taboo. Valad is not blamed for vampirism...he is only an example of what some may have perceived as being one.

Zone-I'd be happy to. Jen-When I say "blame" I use that loosely. I should have been more specific to say that everyone believes he was the "original" vampire, and that is just not anything close to the reality of the situation. In terms of modern day vampirism or the injesting of blood, there is nothing cannibalistic about it. There is no eating or injesting of human flesh. It's not different then if you cut yourself and sucked the wound first. (Some people still do if they aren't near a sink, etc). In some countries though ancestor cannibalism is still practiced and held very sacred.

I have seen these documentaries before! It's very strange to me. I am curious as to why also. I know that the word vampire actually originated from a man named Vlad the impaler. Vlad Dracul..thus the name dracula. He was a leader I think that impaled his victems and eat his dinner beneath them. Check out this link I found about him. www.vladtheimpaler.com

The vampire myth didn't orginiate with him, but Brahm Stoker based his book Dracula loosely around his image. It did the poor hero more damage then good unfortunately. There are interesting things about Vlad, but he was indeed a hero of his country. And he wasn't all that barbaric. The invading Turks were cutting off men's heads! I think a little impaling was just fair play. Anora

Yes I know vampire did not originate from Vlad but he was at one time to be considered a "living" example of one..and yes Bram Stokers book was very loosley based on him. I don't know if having dinner parties beneath impaled enemies and being accused of feasting on their flesh would bein the catagory for being barbaric but I would say it's pretty close. I am by all means for fairplay and agree he was in the position to "avenge" some rolling heads but the point is really that it's quite the interesting story in reference to living vampires. And age old.

I saw too many vampire films when I was young. Now they still scare the wits out of me so I avoid them. Whether it's all fiction or whether there is some truth in it all I prefer not to know as some of the stories are just too way too creepy

Theoretically, I guess to be a "true" vampire you would have to subsist by taking other people's blood. There are people who fashion themselves as psychic vampires, living by taking other people's life force. To be honest, I'm not really sure I understand why anyone would want to live their life as a parasite. And that's what vampires are. They take from other people to survive. It seems horribly unkind. This isn't stealing an object, these people actually believe they are harming others to make themselves survive and they want that. In a metaphorical sense, I do believe in vampires. There are people who are just like that. They like to take from others for their own gain. But in the literal sense, not really.

Yes I do believe in real life vampires. There are people who do believe they are vampires. They sleep in custom built coffins and do drink blood. Most people who consider themselves a vamire even have their own fangs made and tend to dress in the vampiric gothic style. There are even clubs dedicated to vampires around the world. They immerse themselves in the whole vampire lifestyle. As you say they are not the vampires from myth, or movies or the books, but a lifestyle people choose. I too am fascinated by it, although its not a lifestle I would choose but it does have a kind of cool factor about it.

Well, not really on earth. But, I am very curious to know if they do really exist while we are here. I have seen the documentaries on these type of shows as well. And I wonder if they really are actual vampires living amongst us. Not to be funny, but I was really wondering if Chris Brown was acting as an vampire. I mean he bit Rihanna. On his video, Wall to Wall, he was bit by a vampire woman. So, I wonder if he is trying to portray his image on this video. I do want to know if there is such a thing that is true. If we are, we are living in an critical world. I don't want to even begin to think about what type of world that we are living in with something as this..

It's hard to say if it exists. From the common sense, there is none. but we can't find it now doesn't mean it never existed or will never show up in future. who knows?

There are no real vampires. There are some people that like to pretend, but unless they stop aging, have retractable fangs, can polymorph, command others to their will, turn into mist, etc, they are frauds :) I do believe it is a sort of mental illness, however

I personally don't beleive in Vampires but it would be really interesting if there is some way people could live like that. I personally would not like a life depending on others blood but if what the myth associated is true and you could live like an immortal how many would be interested in it. I probably will.... What about you all guys.....

I've seen a lot of vampire movies, actually the last movie I saw is Underworld 3 which is about vampires. And I do like the film. But in reality, I'm not even sure if vampires really exists. If they're not, then (for me) it's good, but if they do exist, I hope I would not be able to mingle to any one of them... that would be scary...

I Like to see vampires on the movies but i am scared to imagine a human drinking blood of other humans, few days a go In a news channel i saw a program of man eaters and how did they start eating other beeings i was really shocked by seeing the program. But on vampires many movies have come they have become a big hit. I think vampires don't like in our communities they have their own world and own resources.

Well i do not believe in vampires but i do believe in spirits. Vampires are just the fabrication of some imaginary images or characters as conceived and delieverd by media. These are not real for sure.

Ok, I dont know about the whole are there really vampires out there, and I have seen some of the shows you are talking about, the empath vamps, and the whole goth scenes and stuff.... but I do believe that people do really live that way. I dont, let me clear that up, but I do love my paranormal vampire romance books, and I can see the fascination that people can have with the lifestyle... not that I would try anything like that... ewww gross... but it is different when you read it in a book... ok, I am going to stop talking now...
